Hi guy,

I was wondering if an 08 TL not type-s owner did any engine mods to there car yet, I can't seem to find any street parts for my 08 TL, but the main reason I made this topic is because I wonder if anyone found a front grill for an 08 TL cause I would like to replace a Honda emblem over the the Acura making it JDM. Please feel free to give me link for parts/front grill.

I would like to change the Acura emblem to Honda so it could be the start of converting my TL to TL JDM so any help will be great. If you don't have an 08 TL please still help me I will be very grateful for all your help.

P2R Throttle Body Spacer, UR Pulley, CAI (AEM, Fujita, etc) - not too many engine mods. 2007 parts should be exactly the same for 2008.

JDM TL?? The is no JDM equivalent (TL is N. Amer ONLY), so good luck with that.

yea def. no JDM parts at all. Tein is about the closest you'll get to japanese parts on this car!

there are some good perf. mods out there, but not much. you can grab one of the 5 possible exhausts
(ATLP Base TL, ATLP Quad tips, Excelerate Catback, Greddy EVO2 & comptech)

the new ATLP j pipe, cold air intake, TB spacer, UR pulley...

haha i think he's just a bit confused and got swept away with the crowd misunderstanding JDM and just simply attributing the Japanese performance companies as JDM. ;-) common misconception.

no JDM For our TL. anything JDM-esque in terms of what you're probably referring to would be:
TL-S tail lights
Versus Front bumper
Ronjon rear bumper
Ronjon Sideskirt
cleared headlights
some light alloy gold rims
CF hood
and you'd have to custom make a EVO-like or STi-ish rear wing
and drop it on Teins.
and of course single outlet huge canister Tanabe probably.

that is about the most riced out "JDM" look you'd get.

althoguh it wouldnt look bad, and by no means is it actually JDM, but i think that's the look you're inquiring into.


someone good with photo shop should try this out.

Hey don't jump down his throat yet. I love JDM but TL is the wrong car for that. Just gotta keep it clean and the car does the rest!

Ha! You guys are funny, stop harassing the kid.

This is what I recommend for you to get a JDM style look on the TL. Refer to the "It's warmer out time for a new grill" thread, for info on how to make a custom grill on the TL. I recommend removing the middle part of the grill and putting an A in the middle for that "floating A" effect, or you could put the H.

Next, de-badge the car, remove them all. Most people keep the big "A" I would, but you could remove that and put an "H" instead.

Third, change the rear side markers to the Type-S side markers which are smoked.

Fourth change the rear license plate lights to a light blue, the mod has been done by a few people, not sure of the links.

Fourth, get a custom suspension, Tein Coilovers are great.

Fifth remove the front license plate and replace it with a JPN one.

Sixth get some tints, not to dark, though.

Also you want to replace the "A" on the steering wheel with an "H"

And that's all that I can think of.

I would like to thank people who support my decision & who trying to help me. An screw all you hater who think they are all that, saying what they want. If someone wanted to do something different you guy should be support them instead of hating on them.

Example: In the movie Tokyo Drift Fast & The Furious, the guy put a skyline GTR 34 engine into is Shelby Mustang, some of you might think that wack but he make a domestic car into a imported drift car do you think that sick or wack???

and FYI, Accurtein would NOT want to be considered JDM, especially when you referred to Tokyo drift right above it. and most importantly, his car is the way it is because he's focused hardcore on performance. Sure his bumper was bought first, but he threw a FMIC behind it. He got the blower before the bumper if i remember correctly. You on the other hand are JUST trying to get the look.
