Time to DYNO the TL
I have two options...
Which dyno should I go for? There are two shops. One shop has the
Dynopack and the other shop has the Dynojet. Which one should I
go to? Should I go with the O2 sensor (air fuel ratio) option?
My current mods for my 08' TL Type-S w/ approx. 21,xxx miles are:
Richie RV6 Pre-cat Deletes V1, j-pipe, & test pipe
Customer 2.5in mandrel bent piping & Magnaflow mufflers with 4in tips
AEM cai
P2R throttle body spacer
Buddyclub grounding kit
After getting the customer exhaust system I felt the car lost low-end torque
but it does haul ass in the upper range.
Any recommendations? I will go for 5 base runs... any recommendation
on which gear to run with? 2nd? 3rd? The 5th base run will go to the gear
that pulls the best results.
I've never did a dyno before
so I'm asking for recommendations... any kind of preparation before the dyno?

boost owns
I say wait for October/November and cooler temperatures... that's what I'm doing... dyno in August humidity is no good.
Dynojet seems to be the standard, and definitely get an AFR (air fuel ratio) readout on the chart if at all possible.
3rd gear is the most common to do dyno pulls in, I believe.

It's been pretty cool for the last few days here in WA state so it should be okay.
I forgot to mention that I have the UR underdrive pulley as well.

I just did this. Go on a warm day this way you have solid numbers. Sure you want to see as much horsepower as you can, but I would personally go on a warm day this way you have the bare minimum of what your car is putting to the wheels. Thats another thing to be careful with. The straps they use to strap the rear wheels. Don't go to tight with them. Looks like you have some expensive wheels. Don't want to damage them. I used a dynojet. 3rd gear for automatics, 4th for 6 speed cars. Turn the VSA off ofcourse. You can get the airefuel, but your probably going to see the same thing I did with my car. That being that your airfuel will drop at about 6300-6400 RPM. Acura pulls back timing on these motors from the factory at that point. Make sure to get SAE corrected numbers so you have good solid numbers as well. Most impartant part. Have fun.

Did the dyno on a Dynopack yesterday... I'm a little disappointed in the results but this is what I got...
245HP & 224Torque SAE corrected
Did the runs with 3rd gear & 2nd gear with a total of 6 base runs even tho I only paid for 3 base runs.
current mods are:
Richie RV6 pre-cat deletes, jpipe, test pipe
2.5 custom mandrel bent piping w/ Magnaflow mufflers
UR underdrive pulley
AEM CAI
P2R throttle body spacer
Buddyclub grounding kit
I'mma go do a dyno on the Dynojet at another shop and see if I get somewhat similiar results or better/worse. Also, when the runs were done on the Dynopack the guy doing
the dyno was using the "sports mode or triptronic gear shifter" to get the car into the correct gear. Would he use the triptronic shifter? Seemed odd that he'd use it. I never used the triptronic shifters on my TL-S.
