Thinking of buying an exhaust. Which is best?

I am interested in buying a new exhaust for my 2005 Acura TL. I would like to get an exhaust with the most performance increase. I'd like to boost the power more. If so someone tell me how much more "power" is increased.

Thanks!

My vote goes to: ATLP and GReddy. You can order ATLP right here on this site in the Sponsored Sales section of the Black Market, but the GReddy is available from numerous places, including from vendors here on the forum.

I'd prefer a deep throaty sound. But sound I am not looking for as much. It's performance increase, thats all I really want.

If I was to have a sound i'd want it to be like this.

Greddy is so loud with precat and 3rd deletes and jpipe. Get comptech exhaust and if you can get the ATLP Base Exhaust. Either one, you can't go wrong. Performance are good on both

Oh alright. So going with a Comtech + ATLP Base Exhaust sounds like the best overall? Good performance upgrade. Not TOO LOUD, but nice.

Now where do I buy this thing on the internet for a nice price. LINK ME both.

How much more HP gain? 7HP at most? orrrr...

So it's still available. But they dont make it anymore for the Type S? odd.

Well it's good they still make it for my vehicle. Base TL.

How much do you think shipping will be on this thing?

So this is what I came up with for my BASE black TL with Navigation:

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ATLP-Cat-...-pr-63696.html [ATLP]

OR

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Comptech-...-pr-45277.html [Comptech]

Which one of these are better for power?

And what does this mean for me? "LIMITED AVAILABILITY, ships end of April. WE ARE DIRECT WITH ATLP! Call with Questions: 949-295-1668" Now it's after April, when would this thing ship?

^^^still havent heard the ATLP exhaust (both base and quad setup) but Comptech gets my vote. Very classy exhaust both performance wise and appearance. not sure but i think the ATLP may yield one or two more hp over the comptech but the comptech is much quieter of the two

IS this: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ATLP-Cat-...-pr-63696.html

The same as this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnLsyuIHe5o

I LOVE the tips on the Black TL that they put on. If so I'd like that exhaust.

Based on that I would say the XLR8 or ATLP exhaust.

You would notice that everybody here is ATLP crazy. ATLP is a great product but you also want to take into consideration exhaust note and everything like that. It all comes down to you and what you are looking for. If you want a quiet or loud exhaust tips styles etc.

Two weeks ago I ordered the Comptech from XLR8 and changed my mind over the weekend. The XLR8 Exhaust has quad tips which was important to me. However it is louder then the Comptech, but not much.

I like the deep exhaust note. I've seen and heard Joshs Exhaust and it's top notch. It's comparable to the ATLP Exhaust, which everyone seems to be in love with. I've heard the ATLP Exhaust, but not enough to say which one sounds better.

I always love the token GReddy guy in these threads!

I'm not bagging on GReddy, they have an awesome performance history. The cans/tips are just too in your face for me. I wish the big potato cannon wasn't hanging off of every civic/saturn (yes)/eclipse/subaru and scion in town...I'd probably like it more.

The exhaust gains will be similar. Our piping is 2.5" in the mid pipe and 2.25" on the axlebacks. I believe ATLP is the same.

^ Like Josh said, both have similar gains and the same size piping. The grade of ss used may be different, can't remember.

lame! Is that why it's usually labeled as the 'quiet' one? I don't want a fart can but the 2.5 --> 2.25 seams to produce best gains.

^^i would say/think 2.5"->2.25" as oppsosed to 2.5"->2" transitions may make only a marginal difference (1-2 hp) ???......

I think it's more significant than that. With exhaust systems, you're only as efficient as the tightest section in the system. So, I have pre-cats/j-pipe/race pipe going in to stock cat back, which is tighter than the ATLP or XLR8 systems. I'm choking the flow and should unlock full efficiency when I slap my ATLP Base on this afternoon.

ATLP dual exhaust is no longer in production, not available anymore. It was marketed as a limited production exhaust.

I think you are on to proving something here.

2.5" branching into two 2" pipes does not restrict the flow, mathematically speaking. Therefore, 2.5" pipe into two 2.25" pipe or even bigger pipe may not make any difference? Think about it.

Area = 3.14 * Diameter
