It can be bad for the pump and definitely the filter. No fuel is clean. All the grit stays at the bottoms of the fuel tank, when you have very low fuel that helps suck up the sediment, which isn't good, so im told anyway.

^^^ and fuel acts as a coolant as well....I have been told all those things as well....
but I have more than 25K miles with running only 4-5 gallons at a time, and an overall 175K miles on the car with the OEM fuel pump/filter....I just feel unless, you dont run dry multiple times and constantly, you will be just fine

cool story bro
yeah when on road trips, I do get a semi full tank....8-9 gallons get me to ~280-300 miles on the highway....so I do stop for gas every 4 hours which is kinda when I take a break as well....
if the wifey is driving with me, we take breaks every 2.5-3 hours and hence I dont even need to carry that much gas but I still carry ~10 gallons....i like it that way
uploading a video now....get ready for some eargasm....and NO i did not edit the video

Well, I hit 175000 miles when the wifey and I were just going on a nice cruise in 70 deg weather....we were having sooo much fun that I missed taking a picture....I had planned it in a way that I would be at the gas station at 175000 miles and will reset the MID so I could get a 175175 mile pic with the Trip computer showing 175.0...hoping the weather would be 75 degs (j/k)....but well, got to the gas station when I had 175006 miles on the odo...
but well....maybe next time
on the positive side, we were at the gym and I saw a Lambo Murci parked at the end of the lot....i liked how he had parked the car so thought of parking close to it and snapping some pix....was able to just get one pix when the owner came out....great effin guy....I have seen his car at the local Fast Fridays multiple times but never met the guy in person....
he asked me to sit in the car and get a feel for the seats and was just an overall AWESOME guy....I told him if I could take a video while he exited the gym and he was more than happy to let me take the video and post it online....
Here is the pic and video...
Youtube is taking time to rotate the vid so I will post it later today
and a picture from my potato cam....
Over the weekend, we drove to Chicago and took the wifey's car so she could get comfy and recline the seats and what not....the sad part is her car gave an avg of 30mpg....the reason its sad is coz next time she will want to take her car as well
well am happy...her Lex has had no issues as well and has been going strong....Cant go wrong with Honda/Toyota I guess....
Meko, thought of you while taking this pic....
how is 300 miles to a half tank (tank capacity is 19 gallons)

Datnammit....almost forgot....
so the last week, I flew in, instead of driving since I had to go back mid week and take the wifey in for a regular check up....
so while I was here, I got a Ford Taurus as a rental...and how I think FORD has come a long effin way !!!
The gauge was just perfect....the engine was nice and smooth, suspension the same way....I dont really comment on engine/transmission/suspension after driving my car since all other cars seem boring and bland
but the interior was a refresher....loved the LCD gauge which can be customized, loved the ventilated seats (balls never got sweaty)....
took a couple snaps of the gauges, here they are...

As a man who's always said that we as Americans (except you Anil, sorry will never build a car like the Japanese can, I reluctantly have said and agree with your comment about Ford and their changes here lately. Ford has also made a lot of new deals with other automakers across the globe and have vastly expanded their name. They are even building engines for the notorious Cosworth motors!
Good to see American automakers finally catching on with the looks and technology. Now lets see how far they can keep these new designs/engineering up and working (dependability).

^^^ am glad you agree with me Robert...
I remember my ex girlfriends brother had a V6 Taurus (2000 something)....a 3.5 V6 was making 180HP....our 3.5 V6 makes over 280HP....All American cars lived by "if you want more power, but a bigger engine in it"
now their V6 Mustang makes more power than their older V8 Mustangs....tuning the motor is the key....the have achieved power and longevity.....and they look very futuristic....even Chevy/Dodge/Cadillac as headed in the same direction

Thanks for the pics bro
To be honest for 19gal, that's pretty good.
MDX takes around the same, it does 16mpg
It got so low we don't know why....that's why my dad wants to get rid of it.
Sooooo many technology on a Ford... I think that's bad in a long run

Hey, his lambo has rasp! Sounds IDENTICAL to your car!
Just kidding, always nice to meet down to earth dudes...sounds almost like the guy with the porsche that austin and I met at lowes...although he was kinda like, look how awesome i am.
About Ford, I felt the same way about that V6 mustang we rented AND Betty's SRX. American has come a long way!

RASP for life baby !!!
I totally dig the exhaust note of my car (except 3500rpm, I clench everytime....no wonder my butt has gotten tighter LOL)....but yeah that Lambo had me hooting....usually i skip over the Lambo's and go to Ferrari's but this (specially the exhaust note) made me stop and drool....
the first time I met some of the folks with Lambo's and Ferrari's, they were very very obnoxious if you will....I was telling they wife that if I ever own one, I would definitely answer questions which people have....
but recently, met Randy and Joe, Randy has a 458 Italia and he put an order for a Spyder version was very nice, he had me sit in his 458 and gave me his cellphone number if I ever wanted to go for a ride....his wife drives a Maserati GranTurismo and his wife asked my wife to sit in the car and just get a feel for it....amazing freaking people....
now Joe with letting me sit in the car and having a nice conversation with me about the car and just why he didnt make it to Fast Fridays, just taught me a very valuable lesson that 'having an exotic is certainly very cool, but being down to Earth and humble is wayyy cooler'....

I think I have P.T.S.D. because im constantly anticipating it as well....but its not there anymore. The dual 3" with vibrant ultraquiet oval resonators did the trick. Im amazed!

ohhhhh myyyy GAWWWWDDDDD
its Andy
I remember you telling me to get Vibrant resonators....but the incompetent exhaust shop was not able to fit 2 resonators under there, hence the 'X' muffler...
since I dont wanna spend any more $$$ on the TL, I am just living with the rasp @ 3500 rpm....well lets see how it goes, otherwise, I might get a 'X' pipe and 2 resonators and might just get it welded how you ended up doing it....

Crazy ole man you. "RASP for life"....I live by that slogan man. With my 3" straight open duals blasting out the back of the Accord. I'm VERY surprised I've never received any unwanted attention due to the decibel rating this beast creates under 15lbs of boost! I remember when Matt and I first started the motor in his shop and was blown away by the loudness at idle alone. I think I have that start up vid posted on my YouTube now that I'm thinking about it.

the first mid muffler I had was LOUD and very raspy...swapped it out for a different mid muffler and it has toned down a lot and has a nice tone to it....
now time to do a mid muffler delete on an Oddy
I remember using that line

So here is for an update:
On Saturday when I was coming back home, Matt and I were just speeding, I think I went upto 125 mph and then back down and we jumped off the highway, headed to my place....
Since then I hear some metal fluttering in the exhaust....I was hoping it was a simple exhaust leak but deep down inside I knew the mid-muffler was messed up....
Come Tuesday, I took it to a shop where we put her on a lift and it indeed was the muffler which was messed up....so this brought me to needing another muffler and getting it done....my exhaust is natural stainless steel and tig welded....I certainly dont want to go to the shop that did my exhaust since they charge wayyy too much....the work is good but am not willing to spend another 400-500 bucks on this....
so all Tuesday I was running around looking for a shop....it was nice of Matt to come with me...he took me to some shop which do good work and are pretty cheap....
Since earlier, on this page, Andy posted the Vibrant resonators, I am thinking of changing the design of the exhaust a little bit....dont get me wrong, I love the exhaust note....it is very throaty and loud....exactly how I like it....the only thing is the rasp @3500 rpm and in all honesty, I can live with it since I also get all sorts of pops and crackles when I down shift....
but anyway, I drew some options up and wanted to post them here to hear some view which you guys have.....
On the brighter side...
I saw Jerry was parting out his audio setup and I jumped on this....dude gave me a great effin deal....
and I took Chad advice on "how to buy a tablet for cheap" and got this:
Nexus 7 (1st gen), 16GB for 110 bucks...I love this thing so far....
why the change from the phone you ask....well recently I dropped my phone...it jumped out of my pocket couple feet out, slid on the concrete and the screen cracked....everything works but the screen has a crack on it....made me think, if I switch my phone out, I will have to switch the whole dash setup out....
Now moving on to the wifey's car....bought the Escort Solo S2 radar detector for her car...again got a spanking good deal on it....installed on her car right away....its battery operated and am trying to find a way to hardwire it in....we will see how it goes.....
Its sitting right along side the Blackvue dash cam I got for her....its already recorded 2 hit and runs (on other cars by other cars LOL)

Nice update, Anil...
I don't know enough to comment on the designs you put up but don't you think it'll make it TOO quiet to add both vibrants AND a merge? I think it's going to sound great...nothing like "forced progress"

Thanks Jeremy....
the X does not dampen the tone of the exhaust...its a crossover pipe since 3 cylinders in 1 pipe doesnt really sound good....with the current setup I had a X pipe in the muffler which was a crossover and dampened the sound....but if I have a dedicated X pipe, then I will need an external muffler/resonator....

Because the X pipe is there to equalize exhaust pressure, I would put it before the resonators. Where is up to you. Some would say as close to engine as possible, some would say put it in the middle, some would say test it all out and look at results.
Now onto the tablet. I'm glad it worked out for you! What a deal huh? This is a nice little tablet. What is your plan exactly? You going to retro it in? What is that pic of? The nav models sub display and what you need to run it? I considered doing that but thought you needed the whole nav system...???

now if there is room in there, its option 1 or option 2 if no room down there....
about the tablet....I plan to retro it in the dash....
so about the display, for you to no loose HVAC display you have 2 options:
1> hide the display somewhere in the back, get a NAV model AC vent sub screen...this will allow you to keep your AC display but you will loose the clock...
2> take the stock screen and "move" the smaller display away by lengthening the cables....this way, you can relocate the sub display anywhere you want....I dont really care about the clock, so am going to move it to the location of the clock (AC Vents)....
