Swap Success j32a3 into j304a

My 05 Accord EX-L threw a rod, so I figured I should upgrade. Runs great!! Put in engine from an 06 TL w\ 157k mi. Everything lined up perfect. Drop and bolt. Engine was around 700.

Engine to transmission and vice versa line up exact. There were only a sensor or two that needed fit to the new engine. All in all, it was a piece of cake.

Did you take the opportunity to replace the rear main seal while it was all out?

This was my first engine swap. How can I tell if the rear main seal needs changed? Oil leak?

Nice work!

Oil leak is one way; however, this $25 seal replacement is one of those things you consider 'while there' when doing a swap, especially if the new used motor has over 100K.

Good Luck!

How the hell did you throw a rod on an 05 Accord V6?? I have 325k miles on my 07 Accord V6 and I have yet to throw anything.

Try driveaccord.net Accord forums. There is a guy over there with a 06 6-speed with over 730k miles , so I find it hard to believe that you throw a rod with just 157k miles on the original engine. Sounds like neglect to me.

a pesky fuel injector malfunctioned, got caught with the nozzle in the on position and started flooding cylinder 2 with fuel.i came out and started it and knew I was fucked Instantly. There were pieces of my engine on the driveway. I took the plenum off and in was filled to the brim with fuel. The bad fuel injector FUCKING locked a cylinder. I came to find to chunks blown threw both sides of the engine

Edit: keep in mind I'm a newbie. However none of my peers who know about cars have ever heard of this happening before. My car "fuellocked" for lack of a better term. I am privileged to drive two j32's now

That's actually known issue for the 1st gen Infiniti Q45. My brother had that happen but luckily it just wouldn't start and they were able to remove the gas, change the injectors and plugs and he was okay. Never heard it happening to a Honda.

UPDATE: Losing compression and knocking but still runs alright.
P.S. I do not fault the OEM injectors for failing, I had been taking them out and putting them in a bunch and mixing them up with old injectors maybe.

Yes. It always ticked and had poor compression(new engine) but is getting worse now. I wonder if I just got a bad used engine, or an oversight.

Still Running. No engine work done since swap
