Hi. Talked with lookinco and I asked him if we could swap the 07 tls drive into my 06 tl and he believes we cant since the whole sub is different.
Anyone else have information on this swap?
It was in the back of my mind to swap a 07 tls drive complete into my 06 tl s/c, but im thinking I would have to have the ecu/wiring changed out also?..

if you did do the swap, you would need custom tuning on the 07 TL-S ECU. Also you need to make sure that the SC can bolt up safely to the TL-S block.

 

true.. my 1st concern is if the 07tls would bolt into my 06tl auto.
2nd if the ecu needs to be changed
3rd would be if the s/c bolts in..
4th tuning is easy with hondata

 

07TLS most likely will not bolt up as the tl-s Auto uses a RL transmission. YOu could go with a 6-speed setup though. 2nd, the ECu will either need to be changed (no S/C) or needs to be custom tuned if you want to S/C it. The blower might mound up, the dimensions of the bay have not changed, neither has the throttle body, just the location of the mount for the blower (transmission) is unknown against the 04-06 TL.

 

so much costly work man. i am sure you wont find a wrecked 07 TLS anywhere or at least for thousands of dollars. Wait for the hondata reflash for the s/c and you will be in the 12s no doubt.

 

Is the 04-06 Subframe even compatible with the 3.5L block? I don't think so.

 

I dont think the subframe is compatible also... hmmm...
I think if I did it lookinco way which is believe is
06 rl short block
03 cl type s piston 10.51 with aftermarket piston rings, or rl piston with 11.0:1 ( is this the rl pistons on the 06 rl ?? )
07 tl type s head stock
this will bolt up to my stock 06 auto tranny correct?

Lookinco has done on his 3.2L TL swap with 3.5 RL block.

 

Wait I think he used the MDX block, which is the same as the Oddysey block? RL block would require RL crankshaft?

Don't forget the 07 type S cams!

 

i agree with 03tl_s with all the money your gonna have to put into your car, your better off selling yours and getting a 08 type- s OR.... pick up the new 3.7 liter mdx motor, if your gonna spend money, you might as well go all out ^_^

 

buy the emanage after you get an 07/08 type s... bolt up the s/c, cut up your engine harness to wire in the emanage and get it tuned...
