The jerking is a minor issue and CT will fix the problem in the near future BKLN.
And I mean a minor issue.

I am very happy with my purchase.

If you want more HP purchase a SC from CT and know it will work and be dependable too, if you want to take a chance then purchase some other SC.

i heard it has something to do with a closed loop delay with the ecu..

let's say there is no fix.. can it be tolerated? is it like bucking? delay? i just want to figure out what it feels like

Man it is so small of a jerk and if you like you can just go faster to go pass the jerking.

It will be fix.

If you are considering purchasing a SC the buy one.
I promise you will be happy, I PROMISE THIS.

How about more detailed description and less "commercial" speak?

Does the jerking appear at a certain speed if you hold it there or does it just always appear through a certain RPM range?

I would like to know more about this as well. I'll be installing mine this week. Did Comptech say there would be a fix for this?

The jerking posts are way too vague.

Try describing the jerking in more detail, like what gear you are in, and whether you are changing shifts and it jerks etc. I think it's probaby during the shifts.

Maybe some ideas from other Supercharger jerking issues on other cars:

1. Mustang

When we first got the car back, we had some minor problems with bucking/jerking at low throttle input around 3300 RPM, although Wide Open Throttle performance was perfect. We took the car back a week later, and Dan corrected the issues for us, by adjusting the settings in the load tables. This is evidently a common occurance with supercharged Mustangs, and takes very fine tuning to get the timing set perfectly in all the right places.

2. Porsche

I found driving the car it had exactly the torque and pull I was looking for. But wait! There were still some quirks that needed to be addressed. Things like a slight jerking at speeds over 70MPH. Another problem was after 15 minutes of driving at 4600 RPM's the car would hesitate. Thankfully less then 2 weeks after my car was completed a 9M customer in the UK ordered a kit. Colin at 9m experienced these problems too. He spent 3 days on the dyno and remapped the chip. The remapped chip solved all of the problems.

3. Avalanche

Good software work to get $600 bucks for one small program use. After less than a 5 minute install and 5 minutes to wait, we were ready to drive! The first thing you will notice is that the shift points are WAY better. Much smoother shifting, no more jerking.

4. Lexus

I assume the only cause of heavy jerking is a slippage of the belt? Feels like your gonna get thrown through the windscreen. There is a belt spray to produce more grip. It is for industrial use. Sometimes some clear water from a sprayer also helps. Coating: http://www.sharecorp.com/msdsfind.asp

Seriously ... i love it how we now have forum members who have a supercharger installed on their TL's and their posts are always very short, vague. I'm not saying they have some responsibility to the rest of us to spend tons of time reporting to us all the details, but I do think that if you're gunna take the time to post about your purchase of the S/C, how enthusiastic you are about it.. do everyone else a favor and post a nice, long, objective post on the product, like sooo many have done w/ such mods as the AEM/Injen intakes, CT exhaust, UR pulley, etc.

The jerking is so minor that I am shifting without any problems.
And if and when it does happens I will to two things, First I will increase my speed, or I will reduce my speed but no matter what I am doing I will shift to the next gear.

The jerking doesn't happen has must as you guys are thinking PERIOD!!!

I am very happy!!

The jerking will happen somewhere between 2 to 4k RPMs when shifting from 1 to 3 gear. But you guys have to understand this doesn't happens often and I mean it doesn't.

There is little else to said about this issue you guys are creating into a mountain from a rock.

What we need to do is find a way to someone to build a intercooler to increase HP.

So it jerks or shakes a bit in the range between 2 to 4000 RPMs...hmm. Does it do this only when upshifting...or also just when cruising along during those RPM ranges and holding it in gear. I mean, I hear ya on how you are getting around it, by shifting up and speeding up...but is this something that is not good for a "daily use/daily driver" situation....does it show up during highway driving? Does the car heat up during highway driving situations?

I would like to know if it's a quick jerk or like a lugging engine when going too slow in a specific gear.

yes, it is indeed like a surge!!!!!!

it happens from 2nd-3rd gear @ around 3k-4k rpm. but if you let go the gas, or accelerate past it, the surge will dissappear and will be normal. and if you're really "WORRIED or CONCERNED" about this minor jerkin/surging issue and want a definite answer, you can call comptech and ask for "BILLY" he will be able to explain this thoroughly to you about the jerkin.... and tell you the same thing i've told everyone here... "ITS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL" IT DOESNT HURT THE CAR, AND THERE WILL BE A FIX FOR IT.

Yes....but they were coming right out with the SC too....and we all saw how long that took. This is what worries me...they are off and making other things now and done with this for a year or so. I dont want to buy a SC only to get the proper fix a year later? If they are gonna fix it...when?

The instructions that come with the kit says the fuel pressure regulator needs to be smashed .03 inches to raise the fuel pressure by 10 psi. I wonder if this could be the reason for the surge.

bklynpanman... Do you still have those 4 guages in your TL? Do you have a boost gauge yet?

hey I was wondering when you are going to get your supercharger installed. I think I am going for it soon. I want to come up and check yours out, like we talked about before. I will definately do the headers and supercharger at the same time, they probably go together harmonically. If you want the most out of you charger think about the headers.. One thing that is stopping me with purchasing the comptech supercharger is that RIPP is coming out with theirs, that is supposed to give 100 whp. I would like to see a dyno graph for both first before I make a decision.

Dan,

Are you installing the supercharger yourself?

No. Topspeed in ATL is doing the install. I am picking it up in a couple of hours. I'll get some good runs on the highway in. I'll contribute to this issue then.

Ok. I have driven over 100 miles with the s/c on. I had the jerking 4 times. It really isn't that big of a deal. It sounds worse than it really is. It's surging not jerking. I got it to happen in 2nd and 3rd gear between 3k to 4k rpm under about 1/4 throttle. It doesn't happen every time. Under full throttle it never happened. It almost seems as if your not giving the car enough gas when it happens. As soon as you pass 4k or give it more gas it disappears. I'll do more testing today.

Now would I have still bought the charger after knowing this? YES! This issue is very small. I had to point it out to a friend that was riding with me. He didn't think it was that big of a deal either. He told me I was too picky. (which I am) I would still recommend this upgrade to anyone who is considering it. The power that it makes it unbelievable. It really feels like someone dropped a bigger motor in my car. I am very happy with my purchase.

The RPM's are increasing when this happens. Yes you can feel it. It kinda feels like it is hesitating. It is staying closed loop for too long.
