Talking supercharger acm problem/question

I am currently looking for an acm via comptech, the one that comes with the supercharger kit. I was offered one for a CL-s, but was wondering if it would work with my 3g TL. Please let me know so I can get this thing installed asap for my birthday next week, or if anyone knows where to get one besides new which is not currently in my budget.

I'd run an AEM unit if your used s/c didn't come with one. Maybe someone on the forum would be nice and let you have their map so you could use it as a base. I'd PM some of the members using the unit and ask them. It's worth a shot.

I honestly want this to be easy, I dont know where to get the map or dl it or anything. Or How much it would cost for an AEM unit. Also, What would be the pros and such, wouldnt it put more strain on my engine with more power then the acm one comptech put out.

^^no sure but im pretty sure the AEM unit would be ALOT better than the ACM comptech provides. there is alot more flexibitlity in the unit and better tuning options from wat i hear/see on the forums. i would pm 04accordcpe and see wat he has to say as he has a S/C on a J32 engine in his accord. i believe his ECu is different tho....its worth a shot to do it RIGHT the first time so u dont have any headaches down the line. my $.02

The one thing the ACM does that no other tunning option does is lower the VTEC point to 4k. This really helps with the power band. On the other hand AEM and the Greddy units can make larger injectors work and other very usefull fuctions. The AEM and Greddy are much more expensive than the ACM in the end.

thats not quiet true..AEM F/IC has the option for you to lower vtec engagement point if you want to.
the guy says CT wants $200 for their ACM
you can get the F/IC for about $400 or less, so thats not that much more expensive at all as a unit with much better benefits than ACM, and you can fine tune the car with it, run bigger injectors and tune with meth, increase boost if you ever want to and retune again.

to the OP...
ACM for CLs, im sure it is the same unit, most likely programmed differently, but wiring for sure has to be different, so you'd have to crack and rig the wiring so it can work on ur TL... i would say, have a cheap bday this year, and save some money and get the F/IC

FIC > ACM. Do it you will have more options with it other than being able to raise the rev limit. One of the minor downfalls is not being able to run a higher rev with it.

I know AEM say's it will control the VTEC point but I have not heard of anyone able to make it work. ( I maybe thinking of the Greddy unit ) I agree go with the FI/C as it will allow for more control and tunning options.

As far as price the OP said $200 was too much so $400 seems unlikely. If you can get a map from someone fine, but if you have to pay for dyno time things could add up quick.

You can find FIC's on ebay for pretty cheap. My friend picked one new up for 200 bucks on there and that was a couple weeks back.

I can confirm that the F/IC is able to change the VTEC point. I had Paul (NVA-AV6) wire up my harness and he added a small relay directly in the Boomslang extension harness. Worked like a charm.

An interesting note, the F/IC got rid of the horrible surging issues with the S/C setup. There was a bit of speculation a while back as to what the real cause of the problem was. I think CT was claiming that the FPR mod was done incorrectly... Not the case, I had significant surging with the ACM and with the F/IC it's completely gone.
