Question Supercharger for a 3G TLS.... ?

Hey guys, where can I find a nice used supercharger for my TLS? I know Comptech use to make them but aren't they out of business?

Don't know if they ever got a "final" version for the TL-S.

Oh really? I thought some people on here had a SC TLS....what other form of major power do we have then if we can't get a SC'er? I'm going to be doing a custom one of a kind exhaust set up here soon. Its going to be close to the RV6 true dual set up but with the OEM mufflers. That way I'll have 2 pipes all the way back. I'll also be doing some headers down the line.

Oh, I think the ST SC has been done, but it's not TL-S specific. IOW - it may require some tweaking (not sure personally, but I could see there might be a few differences).

Look for the big turbo thread and also the new coming-soon tuner.

the ct s/c will work on the type s. you will not be able to use the acm. yo0u will need either the fic or j&r has a stand alone unit being tested and should be released soon/they also mad a turbo as well that a few members are running.. also we dont have headers. we use pre cat deletes. i am by far a expert, but you will need to do much more research on the TL before you start modding. I could have sworn I seen somewhere that sells headers (or performance exhaust manifolds) for the TLS? About the turbo, what kind is it and what's the HP gains. I would prefer the turbo side VS the SC just because I love the sounds. I have cars with both, my GTR has a tubby and my Vette has a Procharger.

Headers are cast into the block. Then theres a "downpipe" or "collector" right out of the engine. One front, one back, both with the primary catalytic converters. This, I think, is to get the exhaust into the cat as soon as possible.

What is available is called a "Pre-Cat Delete" (PCD) from RitchieV6. He provides a catless "down pipe" (front and back) and, I think, O2 defoulers to avoid a CEL.

The headers you saw for a TL-S might have been for the 2nd gen ones. They had headers. All we can do on 3rd gen TL's are PCD's.

+1 on the pictures...

You might want to do some more research before you go trying to slap a S/C on your car so your more informed about the TL.

Yeah I know I need to do some research on this motor but I want to make a little more power. I always wanted to do something like the STS turbo setup but I'm not sure what that would take to make possible for the TLS. I wanted to do a custom exhaust to see what kinda sound and power I would get but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Here's what I want to do, give me your input:
I want to cut the whole system out up to the J-pipe (where the 2 pipe become one single) and start the system their making it 2 individual pipes all the way back to the mufflers. You know kinda like a "true" dual system. My AMG Mercedes had this same exhaust set up where it would go from the exhaust manifolds down to 1 singal pipe all the way back to the the rear gears where it would break off into the dual out. I did the same "true" dual set up on the car and used the stock muffles and the car sounded MEAN!!!!

PS: I'll get some pics off all the cars together soon. All I have right now are individual pics.

you are so full of shit.

the amg exhaust IS TRUE DUAL and uses and X PIPE(sort of because of the resonator, many people remove the resonator and put a true x pipe in)

how do i know? oh yeah because i built about 15 e55's, 10 sl55's, clk63 bs, s65, ml63.... need i say more?

oh and:

did this take a turn for the worse.. nothing against the OP but there are other members on here with "nicer" cars in addition the TL. so when you mention your "dream" cars, you really arent going to impress any one, nor develop much convo on your original topic.

if you want to make a little more power than start with your bolt ons. PCD,jpipe, exhaust etc.(you will notice gains) if you want to make big power be ready to pay to play. it doesnt just end when you buy a FI kit. either way you choose GL, but do your HW..

Ok first of all I'm a grown ass man and have no need to impress anyone on a forum. I am very lucky to have owned these cars and really don't care if anyone on here believes me or not. I'm here to ask for help on my TLS, not my other cars. I can really care less what you feel about my words.
Greco9885, for your info I owned an 06' C55 AMG which had exactly what I said, 2 into 1 out to 2. Here's the stock pic:

(I did have the resonator and 2nd set of cats removed first)

Here is the after pic of the TRUE DUAL set up:

(I also have a video if you need.)

handsom-hustla, your term "dream cars" would be true for most and I understand that which is why I am very lucky to have owned these cars.
My supercharged Vette:
Then

I have posted pics of my skyline and AMG on here plenty of time when I first started. If you would like to visit my Photobucket please do, my screen name is BlueDameon33. That way you can see my whole build on the skyline and others. If you have anything else smart to say look at the tags, all my cars have the same tag number so you can are they were all mine. So again I have no reason or need to impress anyone.

So now to my post about the exhaust work I would like to do to my TLS, what do you all think the hp gains and sound would be if I did the same set up as I did on the AMG? Look at the pics above and you will see what I'm asking. Our TL's are almost the same as the stock AMG setup.

try it out. I believe you'll get an awesome power increase.
you wont get that same sound as your AMG tho.

I can say I never worked on a c55 because its a waste of an amg. Performance wise but a nice car a guy by me put a wide body kit on it and looked awesome.

Thank you for your appology. I happened to like the C55 even though I would have loved an E55. My fav is the C63 but as you can see I wasn't full of shit. I had a lot of fun with my C55, it was very quick for what it was. Also remember the AMG's you listed were of a different class, the C-class is an entry level car. The C55 was the top model of the class but it still an entry level like the 3-series from BMW.

C63s are crazy, one of them just ran 10.8 I think

U are right for saying its fast for what it is, a relatively heavy 5.5l

Lol I actually raced a C63 one time from light to light after I had done some work to the car and it actually stayed with it!! Listen to what my C55 sounded like after the headers, the exhaust work and the K&N filters.

It sounds a little meaner than the C63 I think...?
