Stock intake w/o filter

I've been looking into CAIs for HP gains for 07 TL base,

turns out exhaust gives me more *insured* hp for the buck.

BUT i'm still interested in doing something for the intake ,, and i've seen the complicated air inlet passage

from the driver's side foglamp gril -> up into the engine -> down toward resonator -> up filter -> then engine..

and I think that maze is gonna do pretty good keeping leaves, sand, and water out, so what about running no filter??

I've had some turbo application with just a mesh or women's stocking covering turbine inlet,,,, or

Torreto ran no filter

Not trying to be official question.

just asking everyone's opinion of stock intake-no filter VS CAI(make of your choice)

Waste of time honestly. And honestly I would go with a short ram intake, more response as opposed to a cold air.

Have you seen the stuff that is in an old air filter? Do you really want that shit in your engine? Ive had like woodchips, huge dragonflys and stuff in mine. I dont think that would help my fuel/air ratio in my engine. and as for "toretto" running no filter, you dont drive a car like that everyday. and if you have a phone number in your bank acct, you dont worry about blowing motors.

Keep the filter. If anything remove the resonator instead.

So you would risk getting crap in your engine for 6-7 hps?
