Forget borla and magnaflow they sounds good on mustangs and ram trucks
oh and damn good on a srt8 jeep
For real you need to go for the correct look, which is why I am preaching A'PEXi WS2 (it sounds so nice) I herd the HKS setup sounds good as well, magnaflow is just way too loud they sound like you have an exhaust leak

I will be taking the magnaflows off later this afternoon and reinstalling my stock mufflers. Decided to hold off on this whole exhaust issue until i can do the right thing (2.25" piping + Magnaflow 27" resonator + Y pipe to 2 Tanabe Hyper Universals)
lol Anyone want the magnaflows? It has hangers and a prebent 90degree piping already, all you need to do is go to a shop and have them cut and weld...quick 20min job (i waited 1.5hrs for mine)
To finalize Ballinfizzle's initial question:
I'm not sure if you have AT or MT, i have AT and i REALLY can not control the drone and since AT has such long gears, you always remain at around 2000rpm (peak of the drone). So yeah, I don't think a luxury car like the TL itself deserves such drone and cheapness (not saying anything bad about people doing magnaflows, when i say cheapness, i meant what i did which was just did an axel back vs full piping)....but again it's up to what everyone wants to do, it's their car not ours, as for me...time to save up for the tanabes

I am a fan of tanabe so the ones I seen were catbacks, seen them a while ago and they looked like canisters (which are very loud but suttle, but still loud for the tl)
in fact those do look pretty good, but I am confused why not go with A'PEXi?

Sounds better than I thought but that drone is kinda too much. The GReddy is 661 for like a week or two so if you guys have the funds, I saw go for it. Me however, as a student has to save up for rims first. I agree with stillehere about the magnaflow going on domestics but theres someone on here 'ubond" or something like that and he has quads that sounds pretty much like the stage 3 except a tad bit louder. Those tanabe's look really good though and they'll probably fit in the TL tips real nice.
Won't true dual be just as loud as that, if not louder?

I am going to run an x pipe in there (refer to my other thread) 2" or 2.25" pipe
But yeah man ib18c1 is doing big things I can't wait to here the tanabe's on there, nothing like a custom exhaust made with love right lol.. and since you are cutting and welding so much why not take a short cut...
get some clamps that way you can get the sound you want...

lol jus personal pref...i had the ws2 universal + 2.5" full piping on my RSX-s, it sounded mad sick but i wasnt a fan of the rolled tips...i like it single like the greddy evo...why not get the greddy evo? not a fan of the can haha...so yeah...I'm saving up for the tanabes now

I won't lie I asked em what size pipe they ran and got a reply back saying it was 2.37... from the cat back, I mean its 2 cans and then pipe, it will be loud... don't be surprised if those that order it attach a resonator on there after purchase
ps. I am liking the tanabe's too, I've always like their setups... thus why I have the sustec pro's on my civ

Dont know what to go with hahaMegan is another company that makes exhaust...they're a bit higher than OBX and lower than ur avg magnaflow/borla mufflers. I've heard megans on RSXs...sounds nasty..not good nasty...but NASTY nasty lol...too loud and way too raspy.
Buddy club is nice too...maybe you should try it out lol but im sure its going to be very loud since they are straight thru canisters....maybe u can try the buddyclub out and ill try the tanabes out
jk im ordering them tomorow....

Wow man, you're crazy! haha Yesterday You were thinking about Tanabes, earlier you said a week or so, and now you ordered them already haha! Im 95% sure you're the first with Tanabe's. I heard them on an IS350 and they sound real deep and agressive. Good luck with that! Definitely post up pics and vids when you get the chance!

With my old old old car, the mk4 GTI VR6, it was a gurgle monster when i ran a 2.5" to a magnaflow...absolutely no resonators....im not sure if it will be teh same for the TL...u can give it a shot lol...im not daring enough to

I have the stage three with Flowmasters and stock tips.....sounds great to me. Drones under 3K RPM, but I dont mind it. It is a bit loud for some though. I'm waiting for it to completely break in before I do any videos....

Damn you got the tanabe's pretty quick... if I like how they sound... I may say f*k the evoII setup and go with it...

UPS said it was supposed to arrive today...but it didnt! liars

which makes it easier for you to not stay in the peak of the drone haha, no matter what speed i go...im always stuck at 2000-2500rpms which is the PEAK of the drone...very anoying.hope to hear those flowmasters soon! are they straight through or chambered? most flowmasters ive seen are chambered?
