SSK problem?
I have mine on order... I don't think it'll mess anything up, since it's made by comptech... pretty reliable.
I'll be taking pictures when I do the install with my brother (well, he'll do the install and I'll just take pics). But this won't be for another 1-2 weeks.

changing the mtf would only help the gears shift smoother... the comptech kit shorten the throw by 38%, according to them. the two serve different purposes.
I have the short-shifter. It can "potentially" cause you to mess up the synchronizers. Due to the shift being much shorter, you have to time your clutch & shift correctly so that you don't grind gears. It's not hard to get used to though, once you get it down.
Other than that, no issues with the synchronizers. The shift effort is higher, but I actually like it that way.
Installation is a pain in the ass. I had a dealership do it for me, and it cost me $280 or so. A lot of the console has to come off for this to be installed.
Now that I have around 18K miles on my TL, I'm also considering changing out my MT fluid to GM Synchromesh Friction Modified (since shifting has become rougher and I think the OEM tranny fluid has sheared too much).
