so whats the deal with comptech

seriously now, they apparantly re-opened their doors a month ago, i havent seen any progress in re-selling their line of product, never get an answer when i call.

Has anybody had some direct contact with important people there? Will i ever be able to get a brand new supercharger for my car or should i just be giving up hope!

That is so funny, i just put up the exaxt same post...

Seriously though it is really weird, a 3rd gen exhaust on Ebay just sold for like $830 including shipping that was a year and a half old, my confidence has gone to ZERO... Especially since all of the pics on their website are broken, and it looks like shit.

Someone shed some light!!!

thanks

i am feeling the same way. They need to get their act together and be professional. I dont care what mess they are in, they are standing to lose millions of dollars, not to mention dissapoint a nation of acura lovers. I dont see how these types of things happen, from what i see comptech doesnt give a motherfu*ck about its image and its customers anymore.

Wow... that's the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Companies LOVE to close up shop when thier profitable. I'm pretty sure there's no "nation of acura lovers" nor are they "losing millions of dollars" otherwise, they'd still be in business day.

They're rolling pennies to stay in business as is.

And noone gives a mutherfu*ck about custoers anymore... Including Acura, Pizza Hut, and Micheal Vick.

We dont need personal perspective and other bullshit, we just need facts..

Can anyone supply any facts as to when we can get superchargers and exhausts or not?

The Comptech Supercharger is proving to be fairly reliable thus far. Mine has 50,000 miles on it and still working. I love it dearly and hope some more of you guys get a chance to mate one of these bad boys to your J32.

Apparently the only way to get those is to stop by. You are close enough, shoot up there for an afternoon. They have a pretty nice facility and I've always found them to be more helpful in person than on the phone.

Yeah,

They are not far BUT... I will have to pay MSRP whcih mean $1095 PLUS CALI tax which means it will be $1175 picked up plus install.... If dealers get them i can get one for $1000 shipped or pretty god dam close...

that is why i have not gone up there, save almost $200

^ - Okay, so don't buy anything from them. Stop by, talk to whoever is still working there, walk around the different fabrication rooms, see the products being built, and ask about distribution. You will probably get any question you have answered.

You're not saving anything right now... noone has any stock to discount, and you see what demnad is doing on ebay. I'd stop in and chat em up, ask if they have one in stock, then ask for a little hookup for stopping by (as a committed customer)... explain what your normal vendor (i.e Josh) would sell it for, and see if they can do anything for you. 1/2 of getting a deal is demonstrating brand loyalty and commitment to thier business. Those kinds of customers they DO NOT want to loose.

As for install. "You can do eet". I bolted mine on in 2 hours with a 1 jack, 1 jackstand, and 1 ratchet. Easiest bolt on exhaust I've ever installed, and mine was used (slightly rusty)...

Well I did speak to my rep at Comptech the other day. They will be getting inventory slowly. I sent him over some information but I am still awaiting a call back.

Yeah, i guess it wont hurt to drive up there..... I have spent so much dam money on this TL that it would be nice to save some $$ that was the point.

I know i can't do it myself, i couldn't even put on the rear sway bar because the New Jersey winter kicked the cars ass, everything was rusted all to hell and i had to end up getting new end links and cutting the old ones off. I also had to pound the absolute shit out of the OEM rotors to get them off when putting on the Rotora's.

I will go up there this weekend on Sat and see what i can find out!

thanks all
