Question So Slow from the start

My car takes off so slow from the start. Traction control off, flooring it; it doesnt matter its still slow until about 20mph and then it gets fast. I can race from a roll and its fast as hell but I dont even wanna race anything from a light or ill get killed or have to play catch up. The dealer recommended using BG44k, fuel system flush for 160 at the dealer. They also told me to get a CAI. Has anyone experienced this if so what is the fix?

dealer's trying to pull a fast one on you, a fuel system flush isn't going to do jack for low end torque

The TL Diet goes ape-shit from the line. I just hear what-seems-like a one second BRRAAPP... and that's it....that's the top of first gear (5AT). This is with VSA activated and no flashing yellow light, meaning 100% power to the ground.

nobody asked this guy yet if he's driving a 6MT or 5AT. If you're driving a stick and can't make it go from the line, you're doing it wrong.

I cut some weight, did about all of the N/A bolt-on's (including full exhaust which is top-end bias) and my 5AT is pretty exciting from a stop. I actually have to watch how hard I stab the pedal from a stop cause it tends to roll my 19's pretty effortlessly and car will walk sideways if I stab it from around 30mph (my VSA is always off).

I've heard that the dealer can do this service for around $400-$450. I think it is done at 100,000 miles as a service when they do the belts. But you can do it anytime. I might sometime next year.

Compared with other cars I think that the TL is evenly matched. What it lacks in low end torque it can make up in high end power. From a light the car will be a little behind but starts to catch up around 3000 rpm. Once vtec hits it's game over. To me it feels like a turbo spooling when vtec engages in 1st gear. Try an intake and a UR pulley to get more low end torque.

I am likewise going through the same thing. One mechanic said he can reprogram the ECU to make is faster, like putting a chip in (dont believe him), someone else said change the acceleration sensor, I dont know what to do. Guess I will try the lightweight pulley first. Though we have a honda, my brother has an 01 CL-S and his car flies off the line. Isnt it the same engine?

Lol how interesting, since my TL is in the shop since last week, i went back to my parents 00' Altima and that thing FLYS! i was like "OH DAMNNNH" when i used it for the longest time...while remembering how the TL i really have to put my feet over that pedal and off a good roll then it will take off.

sucks sometimes that a freaken v4 camery beats me from a light...embarrassing.
