Short Ram Intake?

Hey all, not much of a modder here but will have this car for a long haul. Want to do some minor mods but keep majority of it at the stock look. Still debating on front and rear A Spec lip kit. But also wanted some advice on perhaps a short ram intake? Maybe eek out an extra hp or 2 and give a bit better gas mileage?

Best brands and types?

New to this forum too, but did research on here through other posts on short rams. I decided not to do it and just bought a K&N filter for it. Most A-Zine members had the same answer that the stock system is pretty good to begin with. I would have to agree with them on that.

If you are looking for a more throaty sound, then go ahead and buy one.

I'm like you and just doing light mods. I will be buying a throttle body spacer next and that's about it for now.

awesome crunchy daddy!!

yes, short ram intakes are a waste of money as it doesnt do anything and even hurts performance.

Crunchy daddy, save your money on throttle body spacers as well, as they dont do jack shit either.
as any air tuning is done in the air intake manifold and not before it.

Good to know for our cars! Thats money saved for me. I had it on my 04 Silverado that I sold and dyno'd it through a friend, and it made a difference. Figured it would do the same for our cars, but will take the advice for sure. I just bought mine and you guys know more about the car that I would right now. LOL

Thanks again!

on that note; if you are wanting a spacer, the MDX uses the same engine as us and comes with a manifold spacer!

which is good for maybe like 3-5 hp and some torque.

so, you can either grab the mdx intake manifold spacer from the dealer or buy an aftermarket one....i think P2R makes the aftermarket spacer.

If your going with a cold air intake, stick with the AEM V2. It provides the best gains and has the best fitment.

Your best bang for the buck are the TL-S rear anti-roll bar and a long tube J-pipe. A short ram intake is going to have heat soak issues from a traffic light and they tend to be really loud.
