Short Ram Intake

I am thinking of putting on a Short Ram intake in my 04 TL. i dont want to put the long one, due to maintaince of the air filter and i dont want to keep removing the front bumper. Has anyone tried putting the short ram on? do i need to remove the front bumper ? Who makes short rams ?

Do not put a SRI.

You will end up losing HP. Stock air box is better than any SRI for the TL.

Takeda and Weapon-R to answer your question.

Most cold air intake filters can be changed from under the bumper, very quickly and without removing the bumper. The TL builds up too much heat in the the engine bay for a short ram to be a good idea.

I do mine through the wheel well. Turn the wheel "in" so it's out of the way, pop the two clips, pull back the liner and there it is.

I set the screw clamp so it's facing me when I put the filter back on for easy access next time.

Hey so do you cai owners remove it whenever it goes to the dealer for any work. I know from past experience that dealerships track that and use it against you when it's convenient for them.

Mazda did it to me once.

Not me. I've got a "mod freindly" dealership (or relatively so).

Never take your car anywhere near the dealer again. The only reason to go to the dealer is for warranty work, which I find easier to pay out of pocket for. I have never taken my car back to the dealer since the day I picked it up.

They can't unless they can prove the mod caused the failure .. I never take mine off.
