I have always ended up buying the short ram intakes for most of my cars, because I like the low loud growl the intake gives the car. I know that a cold air gives it more hp but I just like the sound.

I have not heard any TL's with either short ram or cold air intakes. I was hoping you guys could comment on how your TL sound with just the intake.

does the Vtech become more noticable like on my old 03 CLS and on my 98 Prelude?

 

has a pretty good growl to it. there is also a light hiss/whistle that goes along with the intake, although most people dont find it too loud.

I am very happy with my AEM CAI. Actually, it doesn't sound all that different to me compared with stock, except at 4000-5000 rpm when I get that soft whistling sound.

 

What I'm trying to ask is what intake will give it a louder low pitch growl. I'm not trying to get horsepower from an intake, just a "cool" sound.

Does anyone know which one would be louder or if there is any differnce in the two, most cars that I have put both short ram and CAI on the short ram was MUCH louder, I'm just wondering if that is the same for the TL.

 

I havent done the short ram K&N option yet, but I think salut (sp?) had his car in for the K&N short ram prototype thing or something. If it wasnt that member then it was someone, if you search you might be able to find out who it was and either read the posts or PM them to find out about the sound of the short ram.
