I agree. A person can hear a difference in the vids. But his car was already in the "holy crap" category before. So the after vid was like.......

I think this is the inherent sound of the PCD and I doubt that going to go away. When I first drove mine with PCD (with oem cat back), it sounded like a loud supercharger whine to me.

And, it is at this point in this type of thread where I provide this link below

I'd like to see a video of the PCD with a "proper" exhaust set up. Something with at least a resonator. That rasp would bother wayyyy too much.

completely agree man. i literally had to play each video like 3 times back to back at a certain elapsed time to try and find the difference. the first vid was already super raspy. not bashing the OP in any way, if you like it that way im glad for you but not for me. i also want to hear these on a car with an exhaust with at least a resonator.

i will probably just buy it and if i dont like them i will sell them.

My setup is =
Precat Deletes --> XLR8 Jpipe --> RV6 Race pipe --> oem resonator --> OEM catback (but with midmuffler deleted)

Under wot, mine is a lot louder on the inside because I have no interior to provide sound insulation.

Here is how mine sounds. There is rasp. I am one of those weird people that doesn't care if it rasp or not. The rasp just let others on the road to know to stay out of my way. Plus, the rasp sound is pretty good at enticing a race sometimes.

Check these two threads -

Also,
This is a little 60-100 approx blast (approx 1/2 throttle).

Here is a thread discussing the PCD sound with an oem cat back.

Precat Deletes + Upgraded Jpipe + No 3rd Cat + Stock Exhaust = very sexy exhaust note (click here)

The noise that I hear starting around 3k rpms doesn't sound like the one in Inaccurate's video. Maybe it's because I have pretty much straight pipe all the way to the stock mufflers. I'll try to get a video up of the noise. Not that it bothers me or anything, I just want you guys to hear it.

AckTL05 is right. When I had just the J-Pipe on there was rasp from 3-4k rpms. Once past 4k there wasn't anymore rasp. Now after I put the PCDs on, it got a little louder but the most noticeable thing is that it's loud all the way to redline.

Videos make it sound like a 3800 engined GM model, such as the Grand Prix GTP, minus the supercharger whine.

Just put on a Comptech Cat Back today. Maybe I was just used to the straight pipe, but it sounds pretty quiet to me. When I get on it, it does sound louder/nice but I'd like it to be louder.

I'll give it about a week and if I still don't like it I'm going to cut out that mid muffler.

I'll try to make a video of it tomorrow if I have time.

Before you start hacking apart your expensive CT exhaust you should consider looking for someone to trade you for a non-res exhaust. I'm sure somebody out there with a louder exhaust would love to trade for something quieter.

I found a deal on greddy, there going to discontinue this part when they sell out so I wouldn't wait to long. I should get mine Tuesday or wedesday can't wait .
