thats oscars old car I met up with him a few weeks ago. He gave me a chance to buy this exhaust when he parted out but I couldn’t at the time (been running xlr8 for 8 years). He said the exhaust sounded amazing in person. He’s now driving an m5 that’s super sweet but he was still jealous of my type s. Good guy, good exhaust! I still haven’t heard one in person

Sorry for bringing life back to a dead thread everyone. I got pretty lucky since buying my TL type S in 2020. My type S is automatic, but I purchased a manual and will be converting it in March. Someone saw me reaching out about the comptech supercharger and was able to help me purchase a complete kit. Somehow I was able to go on FB marketplace(I don't have an account) and see the 3G TL for sale community. Someone was selling a vehicle with this true dual exhaust attached to it. I saw the RV6 stamp on the tips, quickly reached out to a friend who's on FB and gave him my information. The guy called me right away and wanted to know my offer. I'm happy to say tomorrow this exhaust is getting installed on my car. I've been watching videos online feeling like a kid in a candy store. I have HFCS and will be using the j pipe that came with the exhaust. I'm not sure which brand the j pipe is, but It has the x weld coming off the pipe, 2 flexpipes before going into the exhaust. I have done some restoring to the exhaust, but I don't know if I should sand it using different grits and polish/buff it. I'm just happy that I found the exhaust and will be able to experience it for myself.

good find! You like it! Hope getting the OEM exhaust won’t be a problem if it’s rusted and can use the flanges from factory.

I wouldn’t bother polishing the exhaust, unless it’s the tips. No reason to imo.

let us know your impressions!

Thanks!!! I pretty much fell in love with my car all over again. I have been looking for this exhaust for years, and almost picked up a different one until this opportunity came up. I did end up cleaning the exhaust using steel wool, chrome wheel cleaner, and a polish. A night and day difference, the original finish came back just like in this thread! Once again the quality is amazing. I love the deep tone of the exhaust, even as I go wide open throttle it just hits different notes like an instrument. lol I can feel it in the rear of the car as I really get on it, and when I let off the gas it keeps the deep tone note while not making inside the cabin loud at all. Idk if anyone has had a comptech exhaust, but I did install one on my 06 accord coupe. It was made for an s2000, but I ran custom piping and installed a resonator. It has a deep tone as well, but is different from the RV 6 true dual setup. Hopefully Richie sees this, I did sign up when orders were taken to start another batch. You have a lot of people who are very interested in purchasing your exhaust for our cars. I hope you do bring it back into production for all those who are looking to buy.

2 flex pipes is probably an RV6 v3 jpipe...
congrats on scoring it and being persistent...they are HARD to find.
Shit...I missed the sound so much I bought back my entire car for a 3rd time to get it back.

if you watched that video of the two black tl's in front of a yellow house revving comparing the atlp to the rv6 that was me and my buddy austin about 8 years ago.

Is there demand out there for RV6 HFPC's, V3 J-Pipe, and the True Dual Exhaust? What's a reasonable price for each component or all? I'm on the fence about swapping mine back to stock.

Hacura, I’m in Sacramento and I’d be interested in buying your setup for my 07 type S
