rv6 pcd v3

So I went to order my PCDs, and to my dismay, richie sends me an email, cancelling the order bc they sold out this weekend. BUT he says there will be a V3 release next month with a HFC option (cool for some ppl, but i dont need them with hfc option, as long as they dont throw a CEL)

Anyone heard anything else?

Im gusessing I got the last set seeing as mine just arrived yesterday. I would be interested in the HFCs but I don't have the money right now so I think I'll keep the PCDs.

Nice! We are going to look at getting preorders going for these asap. We know we got the last set of V2s last week, and it's nice to see we are going to have an option for people who don't want stinky cars.

yeah and even if they don't, it might be better (for me at least) bc i'll have some extra holiday money laying around after christmas.

i'm just debating if i want to pull the trigger on these or the v3 jpipe first. we shall see...

So the V3 precats shouldn't have the smell that the V2 does?

Thats NOT how I understood it...How I understand is that V3s will have a HFC OPTION. So if you got that option, then I would think the smell would not be as prominent, if there at all.

Haha no all PCDs will smell the same. The high flow precats will have reduced smell or no smell at all.

Not sure on pricing yet I have a lot invested in these. You guys will soon see why. They will be here in about 6 weeks if all goes well.

This is promising news! Six weeks, three months, doesn't matter to me. You'll get more orders if they're released in January when people are filing their taxes. It's getting into shitty weather season for many of us anyway.

ok im not sure if i missed something here but, does this mean there will be another pcd version all together/ or will this v3 will be in hfc only? i was about to get the pcd v2 but its not available, i guess this sucks for people who just bought their pcd v2 if a new pcd v3 comes out. if its only a hfc i will stick to the v2. i guess i will get the v3 j-pipe for now. good work richie...

Could just faintly smell something one time..windows down and sitting at a light (stationary), with no wind. Other than that...nothing. Oh and I finally cut up my Greddy Exhaust and added a resonator for those of you having that rasp issue.

Yes the Precat DELETES will fail smog, but the HFCs should be good.

in the thread, he said its better construction.

Over the years we’ve made several improvements to perfect this product. The biggest challenge was getting a round pipe to fit smoothly into an oblong hole. By stretching the pipe thin spots were formed that were prone to cracking. Combined with the rocking of the engine, cracking failures were fairly common. To solve this problem we tried using flex pipes, thicker materials and extra thick welds. These were all band aid fixes that never completely solved the problems. Until we decided to take a new approach.

Introducing the new V3 Precat deletes aka V3 PCDs. Designed completely using 3D CAD and CMM. The transition from flange to pipe or high flow cat is made from precision casted 304 stainless steel. This allows for optimum turbulence free flow with no sacrifice in strength. The castings are no thinner then 5mm at their thinnest point, roughly 3 times thicker then the V2 PCDs. We are confident that the V3 PCDs can handle any abuse without cracking.

Production has already started and the ETA for the V3 PCDs is late January. We are currently taking deposits for the first batch. As you may have guessed we have invested significant time and money to develop these. Here’s the deal, for those that put down a deposit we will keep the V3 PCDs the same price as the V2 PCDs ($345). When these are in stock the price will increase approximately 10-20% The V3 PCDs will include the same hardware as the V2 PCDs.

These castings will also be used to make high flow precats for those who want to free up their exhaust without going completely catless. I will make a separate post when we have more details available. Teaser shots will be posted soon.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and business.

-Richie

- 304 Stainless cast stainless flange sections.

yeah, that alone is enough to purchase the v3 over the v2 which is being phased out anyhow, all the other stuff is additional perks

^^^ yeah and i think it will be a little better flowing (hence tad bit better gains) since I dont see the little dent (for fitment) which the v2 had....
