It happens to a lot of us...it's purely cosmetic damage.

Yea you're good. Just watch out when you work under your car. Don't want to scrape your arm against that. It hurts!

I stand corrected; I have a leak at the damaged flex section of the pipe.

what's behind the braiding? i thought it was just a set of coils? but of course, that wouldn't really make sense...?

Can't tell. I can only feel the exhaust escaping. If the muffler shop can't fix it, it will be a good excuse to upgrade to an ATLP or XLR8.

Well now I'm worried about mine! I just bottomed out real hard the other day.....hope I didn't "hurt" my XLR8 Jpipe.......I actually scrapped it on a speed bump not long after I installed it...not dents, just scratches.

It takes some time to wear out. Its just metal mesh with a tube in the middle as I recall. I forgot we had to take my friends apart....He inverted his flex pipe and blew it inside out on his turbo car. But yea muffler shops should be able to fix flexpipes...they would just cut the old one off and reweld a new one on.

yo ev... you can replace the flex with one that will outlast the car... if you need some help with it... hit me up... i threw a 2.5" flex on my coupe teg (before is old it)...

you can use this as an excuse to tuck it higher and away from road damage to allow you to go lower

this is a tiny one but you can get pretty much any size

Looks like its time to upgrade to the V3 jpipe so you never have to worry about ground clearance issues again :-)
