no. it will not be loud.
however, you will have a smell and rasp depending on your exhaust.

yes, by adding another resonator.
the PCD's will NOT pass emissions.

I love my PCDs, and the smell of unburnt fuel. But yeah, gotta know someone who's a mechanic, b/c it won't pass emissions. Add a pulley to that and a j-pipe, then it all gravy baby...LOL

i need to find someone like that...i'm not looking forward to installing them, and then taking them off a year later just to pass emissions, and then putting them back on.

time to put the thinking cap on...

i guess im lucky cuz here where i live there are a couple smog shops that simply, look the other way for a cheap price. i mean like 25-35 bucks more than what it acually costs anywhere for a legal smog test.

yes, you're lucky.

i know you probably can't help me, since i'm across the world from you and all, but if you can't point me in the right direction that'd be helpful. PM if necessary.

You can also buy another brand pulley called Ralco RZ but it seems everyone on here does not like anything but expensive name brand items! I like mine.

It all depends on the state. Technically you're not spouse to replace a cat unless it fails.

What kind of sound change would I hear with an 07 Type-S, and JUST the RV6 V3 J-Pipe? I'm looking for a few more Hp/Tq, but don't want it to get too much louder, or raspier...

Thinking about the J-pipe with the stock intake resonator delete for a clean, slightly more aggressive sound. Would that be a good combo?

The Jpipe alone does very little to change the sound. It will sound slight more aggressive.

Night and Day the amount of power and torque you actually feel. The sound doesn't change so you dont have to worry about that at all. It is sooooo worth the $$$. I felt like I wasted $300 having the AEM V2 CAI as my first mod.

How exactly do you do this and will it add any additional hp or just sound?

I'm not sure if I want to get an intake for the Type-S since it really doesn't to much for power and mostly just sound.

Richie - Do you think adding a AEM V2 will help the JPipe breathe better giving more hp, or should the JPipe with the stock S intake be good enough.

I got my JPipe last week and haven't had a chance to get it installed yet. Thanks for the BF sale.

Yeah, I might get the exhaust to go with the J-Pipe so I guess it does make sense to get an intake eventually.

to let the jpipe breathe better, you need to complete the whole set.
PCD's
Jpipe
and
upgrade the remaining exhaust pieces.

Well you have to take the bumper off and remove a few bolts...then pull really hard haha. I did it yesterday, and while my "butt dyno" thinks it pulls a bit harder now, I'm pretty sure it just adds a bit of sound. I really only notice a sound increase above 3500-4000 rpm.

It's an ongoing arguement whether an intake adds noticeable gains...it'll add a few hp, but some say you won't feel it and that it's mostly just for the sound.

well i simply found out about some of these places by driving around looking to do my smog and i saw some cars that seemed to be modded and pulled up and simply asked them if they knew where i can get my truck passed because it had long tube headers and cai and aftermarket exhaust, and i didnt want to take them off. the guy just laughed at first so then i said ok have a good day. then he followed me out and said ok ill do it but it will cost you a little extra. and if i ever get pulled over i have to say i put everything on AFTER the smog check. so now me and my buddies take our cars to the same shop for years and everything has been cool. so i suggest just drive around and simply ask the shops. whats the worst that can happen? they say NO.

good luck bro

You're in MD just like me, why would you have to take these off to pass an emissions test unless you have a CEL?

I beleive VA does a visual with no sniffer. I can check for sure though as my cousin sells vehicles in NoVA and has gone through emissions a few times.

You're wrong, maybe in your state that is how it goes but in MD, you can be running almost any exhaust setup, and unless they have a very obvious reason to visually inspect your car(i.e a rumbling exhaust thats shaking the whole inspection station) you will pass the emissions test as long as there is no CEL and leak from your gas tank.
