Rotora Rotors Break in Time
I just installed my Rotora Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors with Matching Ceramic Pads on my 05 6MT....so how long is the break in time exactly? anything special I have to do....right now the braking feels very loose and it doesn't "stop on a dime" as it is supposed to.
Also, the dealer who installed them, told me that the pads were "indentical" as opposed to the oem ones which are designed to fit on a specific side of the rotor itself....
any advice is greatly appreciated.

^^ I would hope the dealer installed them properly...I don't know of the details....he did tell me that at some point I have to change my brake fluid soon...does that have anything to do with it? -- I don't know why they told me afterwards, I should have just gotten that done now...oh well..500 miles huh....so until then the brakes will be "soft"?
also I got the tranny fluid changed for smoother shifting....any clue how long that will take -- they put in some fully synthetic stuff this time from waht i know

so i figure like this....i'll throw the rotors and pads on the back also in a couple months or so ( i got some wear left on the backs)...and then I'll have them handle the brake fluid @ that time also.
What about the other stuff?

check rotoras website- they vary with what brakes you got- its more than just drive gently
from what I recall of install on friends 05,
Brake early for now- it will get much better soon
Call Josh at Excelerate he is the rotora specialist and can give good advice based on experience

Brake fluid change is always a good idea, supposed to start at year 3 and then every year from now on! It makes a differance and protects expensive parts

STOPTECH has a great rotor bed in theory, which can be applied to almost every brake setup:

You will want to do this procedure upon initial install and then be easy on the brakes for 300-500 miles. Upgrading rotors/pads will definitely improve braking over stock but it's not going to make you stop on a dime. However, you need to transfer a layer of material from the pads onto the rotors before you starting feeling the improvement since the pads need to "break in". Upgrading hte lines to stainless steel brake lines and flushing the fluid will definitely also improve braking too.

It is not a matter of miles. It's a matter of method. I use this method:

It's pretty aggressive, but then I think a hearty break-in is the key to getting good performance out of your brakes. After a good bed in you should not need to be easy on the brakes.
