They do. And I don't think the degradation was all that much really. So if it's aesthetics you want, go for it. It's not going to hurt you that bad.

I think the cost added up to a point though that you might as well just consider saving a bit more and buying a Stoptech BBK kit.

Definitely do the Stoptech if the cost is even close. The performance to dollar ratio is probably the highest out there and they do a lot of testing to ensure stock brake bias. There's even rumors that you sometimes get a little more rear bias. All I know is having the proper bias allowed the car to stop dramatically quicker than when I had the Rotora kit on the car. The ABS will start acting weird when you screw with bias too much and I think that's where a lot of my stopping distance improvement came from. After making these mistakes myself I can assure anyone thinking of just throwing a caliper on that's going to increase front bias you're decreasing your safety.

so the stoptech brakes are better in having the proper bias?

^Better in every regard really. And not too bad in price either. Less then $1200 and that includes rotors.

Why would you get a Wilwood 12.7" kit when you can get a Stoptech 13" kit with a far superior caliper, larger rotor, and correct bias from Excelerate for the same price?

Has anyone analyzed the RL caliper's proportioning bias in the past or done some distance measuring to see how the RL calipers on a 3G TL compares to say stock calipers? I'm curious to know but was not able to find any forum articles/posts regarding the subject. I only see what 'I hate cars' concluded about his Rotora BBK kit vs. his much improved Stoptech BBK.

In running the RL caliper setup over the years and doing an HPDE beginner event with the TL that involves threshold braking, I haven't honestly noticed any issues or concerns with the setup. I understand it's not fully optimized and track tuned by the pros, but I'm pretty certain it's going to outperform the stock setup during a track/lapping event simply because of the greater heat dissipation abilities.

A factor that has not been discussed much is complimenting the higher friction front brake pads with higher friction rear pads. To me, this is equally important even on a stock caliper setup. Another factor would be suspension setup as altering suspension components affects brake dive characteristics which in turn changes how much downward friction force is being applied over the front and rear tires during braking.

At the end of the day, I'm going to say that 99% of us are not going to benefit from a BBK on a daily driver unless your drive involves frequent stops from 60mph+ to a speed of say 0-20mph. A car with stock calipers vs. even the Stoptech BBK will stop in about the same distances up until the stock pads/rotors begins to fade after X number of stops. Inevitably, tires will make the greatest improvement in stopping distances under regular daily driving circumstances. Having the right tires for the right conditions is key.

Ok, so I would really like to do the Advics BBK but can't seem to find anyone who can provide me with the brackets/calipers/etc.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or has a lead on these it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I know I'm like a year late but for those who don't know and are still interested Heeltoeauto.com has an rl upgrade kit for sale which comes with the bracket your choice of rotors and pads and also brake lines. Which brings me to another question. I just purchased this kit but didn't get the lines. Now I want ss lines but I would like to know if the TL ss lines will work on the RL calipers?
