resonator question from new guy

Hey everyone,

First off, this is my first post, i have been reading through some things and it seems like a lot of you have good experience and know what you're talking about instead of just bragging about the cars (although that is fun too sometimes). Anyway, i do realize there's a search feature and I did look but basically, I want my 05 TL to sound like a G35 coupe but a little bit louder.

kinda like this, but louder and minus the tin can action in some parts of the rev band but i can put up with that if there's no other option: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAX8N...eature=related

from the description on that video the resonator was replaced with an aftermarket one and the midmuffler is removed, would i do the same thing to acheive the sound i want or take a different route?

ps, i know i'm specific but we all are when it comes to exhaust i think.

Thanks

you can never really judge the sounds from youtube or any type of mpeg clip

honestly.. the closest you'll get to the G sound... would be a comptech exhaust... with no mid muffler, but a resonator installed... the comptech always made a nice zippy kinda sound

ATLP, Greddy & XLR8 sound awesome, but they will be deeper and louder than the G.... a resonated ATLP might sound pretty close to it too, but you'll never get that same zippy VQ35 sound.... very unique exhaust note

that video, the guy probably just hacked up their OEM exhaust... which is the cheapest route to go, great sounds, but not really any power gains

So the ATLP , Greddy , and XLR8 are deeper than stock ? If I add a resonater to them would it be Almost as quiet as stock ? Just curious .

Yeah, i was thinking of going the cheap stg 3 route, basically hacking up the stock exhaust and going from there as i'm only really looking for sound and not really any power gains (you must think i'm crazy, haha). What resonator, if any, do you recommend for me to buy and have installed in place of the OEM one?

Thanks

Thanks for all the input guys, i'm probably going to go with the stg 3 route since it's the cheapest and as a college student my budget is kind of tight and not having a very stable job doesn't help either, haha. but as you can see in my above reply i'm not looking for a significant power gain but mainly just the sound so just hacking it up sounds like it'll work for me.
