Replacing air filter.

Hi all, I'm trying to replace my OEM air filter with a K and N 33-2299 filter for my 04 TL. Problem is I can't unscrew the filter housing with a regular screwdriver and that's all I have. The dealership was supposed to replace the filter at 30,000 miles, but by the looks of the way these 4 screws are stuck in there I don't think this thing has ever been touched. I don't want to start stripping the threading for the srewdriver. Is there anything I can do to make these things come off easier? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry if this has already been adressed but I couldn't find any DIY's on changing the air filter.

Use a socket - one of the smaller sizes (I forget which size) attached to a screwdriver's replaceable tip. That's what I used. Get a longer screwdriver specially when the engine is hot because you can burn your fingers in there if you're not careful.

Just my $0.02

Got a a rachet that would fit it with an extension thanks! Howcome there is no DIY on the forums for the engine air filter? I did the cabin and it was much easier than this. Or is this supposed to be even more basic? If there is one and someone has a link please share it as I'll bookmark that for life.

Is the K and N filter supposed to be a third of the thinkness of the OEM filter?
