Remove coolant for CAI install??? Really??
Can someone explain why the instructions that came with my AEM instruct me to remove some coolant and a coolant line? I've got the entire stock intake out, and I do not see why the coolant lines need to be disconnected, am I missing something here?

Is that the Throttle Body coolant bypass?
If so the idea is not to pump hot fluid though where the air is Cool Air is going.
Do a search on "Coolant Bypass" for pro's and con's.

^^ Negative. It's that the coolant hose and I think it's called the vaccum hose? Well they are both 2 short pieces of hose, then they attach to 2 metal pipes that are like stuck together, then the vaccum pipe goes into the stock intake, and then there is another short hose for the coolant. Since that pipe can't attach to the CAI, you get rid of the whole pipe assembly and replace the coolant line with 1 long tube and the vaccum hose with 1 long tube. You don't need to drain the coolant. Just keep the end you disconnect facing up, it'll be fine. You'll spill a little bit, but nothing to lose sleep over.
