I checked it out when I was shopping around but never really considered it with all the positive reviews of the other jpipes.

Here's their website and info:

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/h...-p-154112.html

It deletes the third cat. The flex pipe looks a little fragile to me. Looks can be deceiving though.

I have heard of Billy Boat (who manufactures XLR8 Exhaust iirc), but never know they made jpipes for us.

noobs.
it looks exactly like the others.
which means it probably gains the same.

the only "rare" jpipe available is the Labree pipe.(and Im not even sure if I'm spelling that correctly)

it looks different, the primaries are EVEN longer than that of the rv6 v3.
Longer primaries = more gains!

I know Billy Boat is quality stuff, their cat backs used to be really popular for Impalas. For basically the same price stick with RV6...

I know Billy Boat makes exhausts for APR and their stuff looks good . I had a billy boat on my old VW R32 and my friend has one on his VW GTI . They look and sound good .

Ah, didn't know that. But I think you're probably right. It's shorter than the RV6 pipe. I was thrown off by the statement " practical for after-cat exhaust applications" but I'm betting that's primary cats.

LOL, are you guys serious?

http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-236895.aspx

Look familiar? It's identical to the XLR8 V1. Billy Boat has always made XLR8's exhaust parts for our cars.

I should have clarified that I wonder if the power was low, mid, or high range.

Noob should have figured out what anx did.

Never saw the V1 before so thx for the clarification and yes I know BB has made parts for them when I had purchased my exhaust but didnt know about the jpipe.

Okay so it's identical to xlr8 v1, but its still rare! I mean I feel like no one really has it, and mine even has the authentic billy boats decal spot welded on too. So I still believe its a pretty rare jpipe

But much thanks on the reference to xlr8, I didn't know he made them for xlr8

why is everyone stuck on if it gains mids highs or lows?!?!?!

badassvtec has xlr8 v2
i have rv6 v3.

its the fuggin same shit!! lololol
not one car accelerates faster in the lows mids or high powerbands.

What you guise are doing is ANALIZING the pipe to its death.
the latest and greatest pipes from each manufacture produce about the same gains

like stated; if they look alike, they're gonna gain alike.

the only one that looks different is the labree jpipe.
LONG primaries and will gain a lot.
I think Sonnick had the labree for a bit; until he went custom.

This "rare" jpipe is identical to the XLR8 V1 jpipe which since then XLR8 has come out with a better V2 jpipe. why would you even consider buying something that has been revised to gain more and have better ground clearance? makes no sense to me. Cant go wrong with any of the "latest" versions jpipes from ATLP, XLR8, and RV6. they all have great products!

^ You misunderstood. Some of us weren't aware of it being the V1. Since Anx clarified it then I presume no one is actually going to buy it.

People who want to retain their third cat would buy this one over the V2. That's why Excelerate still sells both pipes.

That looks like an abortion, but then again so does the OEM pipe.

There is nothing rare about it. We employed Billy Boat to make our j-pipes. Every XLR8 V1 j-pipe was made by Billy Boat.

So if I ever went with a j pipe would I have to delete the pre cats?
If I went custom couldn't I just cut the stock cats out of it and have them welded on the custom one?
Or is that just pointless ?
I just don't wanna throw codes but get performance gains..

The jpipe bolts up to the pre cats , it isnt all one piece .

your billy boat jpipe is not rare. you know xlr8 v1 and v2 are produced by BB EXHAUST. they come out with a batch of 20 at a time. haha. BB EXHAUST makes the xlr8 HFC/Test pipe too. i think BB exhaust is contracted to make it for xlr8 only i dont know why theyre selling directly to the public. LAW SUIT?

justin i agree and disagree.
xlr8 v2 jpipe makes more peak tq than rv6 v3 jpipe. Josh says he sells out soo fast its not even funny. (proof of gains are on HEELTOE.COM jpipe shootout blog)
