Those are factory 6-speed calipers, with the RacingBrake 2-piece rotors.

Still on my first set of Hawk HPS' on them with about ..15k at least and 3 track events. No signs of wear...almost! I'm stoked.

How much pad do you have left on the Hawk HPS? Was there a reason why you chose those over the racingbrake pads (et500)?

Unless a new product has been released- RB did not yet have pads for the Brembo brake cars, only the 2 piece rotors for them.
Hopefully they have caught up and have them now.
I run ET300 on my 01 with 1 piece rotors and 2 piston Legend calipers- what a stopping machine she is now!

looks like a nice upgrade !

I was on the site and saw they have an application for my accord 6 speed....the front 2 piece rotors are close to 6lbs lighter than stock

loosing close to 12lbs of rotational mass is crazy - not sure if I want to dish out the $600+ though, guess you have to pay to play!

Racingbrake does make slotted and cross drilled/slotted combo rotors for the '96 - '03 TL
i'm sure mrheeltoe might have them.

The average person, not racing in competition, will find the slotted rotors are fine for them.
The special curved innner cooling vanes make the 1 piece units superior to anything else I have tried- in my many years of wrenching.

The cross drilled offer the hardcore autocross racer or canyon runner, where repeated brake use with little cooling time between uses, better cooling in that situation
The standard slotted work awesome for everyone else

Actually, in severe duty driving the slotted rotors are preferred for their durability.

What I meant was: autocross racing requires constant full on - off the brakes every few seconds in a short period of time, less than 1-2 minutes is the normal run,
- which the crossdrilled will handle the heat buildup and dissapation much better.

2 piece rotors add additional cooling and less heat transfer from the hub to the brakes.
Those are the winner for the above situation

On normal race courses or mountain backroads, there is several seconds distance between each corner-brake use, which allows proper pad cooling off between uses.
When the brakes are on, the friction makes heat- and causes an outgassing from the pads.
The slots on the side of the rotor act as escape channels for that gas.
Otherwise it can create enough gas pressure to actually push the pads away from the rotor, not a fun thing to happen where I drive.
1 piece RB Slotted are working awesome for my 01TL, and I have a competition race license which gave me a healthy respect for things that slow the car

I'm very pleased with the rotors. The hawk pads, on the other hand, can go in the garbage. Just put the OEM brembos back on - huge improvement. Much happier.

Brake pads are like shoes. We all like different ones for different things. One of the things that is cool, and also annoying, about buying brake pads is trying to figure out which ones suit your driving style the best.

For an upgrade over stock we love the hawks, and have had great luck with them.

You have to give the RB rotors and the Hawks time and a few beddings sessions (per HeelToe article/method) before they have any real serious grip- then hang on!!
May take 500 miles of street driving to get them at full performance.
Just getting the new off the rotors takes time, thats one of the reasons for the special finish on the rotors- immediate bite~
Make sure the rotors are well cleaned with brake cleaner to get the protective oil off them before install- that oil will toast your pads

Note: while you have the wheels off- give them a wash and 3 coats of synthetic car wax on everything thats not the tire.
This will cut down on the time you spend wiping brake dust off, and washing is a simple rinse and go.

I did everything the instructions outlined. They were on the car for 10 months and roughly 12k. But like heeltoe said, won't work for everyone. I'm happier with the OEM pads/RB rotors. Best combination I've experienced so far.

I forgot you have the factory brembo setup- wish you would have let me check it out for you, but living in SF is tough on any brakes, and the hawks do require some heat in them to work their best!!- thats my experience

Good to know the RB rotors work well with the factory pads too.
It would be nice if they made an ET500 in the brembo pad backing plate,
Consumers- send your request to them!! - ask for 500s for the Brembo equipped 6 speed cars. RB is an american company who reads emails and listens to customer feedback and request.
How do you think they decided to produce pads for the other TLs/acuras-
customer request!!

T, I am going to do just that. I want the ET500 w/RB Slotted on the Brembo fronts when the OE rotors are shot on my 3G.

Done.

Hello Racing Brake!!

I recently purchased RB Slotted Rotors, ET500 Pads and SS Lines for my OTHER car, a 2002 Acura TL-S. I LOVE this combo - stops GREAT, no noise, low dust. Excellent products.

I went searching for RB ET500 Pads to replace the OE pads on the 2007 Acura TL-S and you don't offer them.

The 3rd Generation Acura comes with 4-Piston Brembo's on select trim levels (6MT's '04 - '06 and TL Type-S '07 - '08). There is nothing I'd rather do than put the ET500 pads on the Brembo Caliper. And so would a lot of other enthusiasts.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks again for making great products!!

I got one of these last week. I had the chance to use it this weekend to remove the rotor retaining screws. Worked great. Price is $19.99. The screws came loose after the second blow for each screw. Highly recommended.
I concurr. No need to go cro-magnon on the screws. But those are some niiicce rotors.

You can upgrade the rotors/pads without increasing the size of anything. Do you have an automatic or manual transmission?

what year is your TL- it is a TL right? auto or manual trans?
There are awesome rotors available and pads to match-
some that will stop on a dime ------ and leave 8 cents change~

The dealer may have looked to see if the Brembo kit with the bigger rotors and different calipers and steering knucjkles to clear them- thats only for certain cars- $1200++++

You can get really good front pads and rotors that will last, and not warp and wiggle- for about 325-350, I havent checked heeltoe recently- use the coupon code on the checkout cart page to see the special price-code is: acurazinerocks

I have 1 piece front rotors and et300 pads on the 01- for the `wife drives it a lot`
She needs massive abilty to go from 80 to 20 suddenly and most importantly -faster!! than the cars in front of her! Freeway traffic is death defying experience when riding with her!

If you are hardcore driver-racer-track day enthusiast- spend the extra and go 2 piece rotor- You replace just the outer ring-disc part when needed- a long time from now- reuse the inner aluminum hats and bolt the new disc on- its trick!! and reduces the replacement cost.
2 piece rotors offer superior heat extraction, and the inner aluminum hat does not transfer the huge amounts of heat from the axle hub to the steel rotor

I want to know the long run stats on these....im curious to know what the stopping power is like and the life on these....out of my stock brembos i get about 40k. ive tried diff pads but none made me really want to go back to them. maybe the rotors are better than the stock brembos
