Question about CAI

I'm debating whether or not to get a CAI, but I'm still unclear on a few things:

1. I've been told that CAI will reduce low end torque and increase high end torque - is this true?

2. I live in Vancouver and it rains here like 80% of the time. I've been told by friends to not install CAI because there's a chance I'll hydro-lock the engine. Does this occur only when going through big, big knee-deep puddle? I'm not sure how the CAI will make it more likely that I hydrolock the engine.

3. From a warranty point of view, what do I have to be aware of when it comes to CAI? Can it damage the engine, etc?

Thanks in advance.

1. You won't feel a difference + or - in the low end IMO
2. You won't hydrolock unless you are on the gas through deep water
3. Essentially if something goes wrong with your engine and you take the car in with the intake on they will find a way to blame the intake.

Look up the Magnusson Moss Act. The dealer has to prove that the part you installed caused the problem.

PM me if you need an intake.

Actually, I live in Canada, so the laws might be different. Our court system here is very different, meaning if I ever wanted to take the dealer to court, it would cost a lot of time and money.

I'll definitely consider an intake for the Type S. Which would you recommend?

I'm surprised no one has beat him up for not searching....This topic has been discussed many times.

BTW, well worth the money, but it'll cost you in gas mileage because it sounds so good at WOT, aside from the performance increase.

Please don't beat me up. I'm from Canada and we're fragile over here.
