Quad tips to fit A-Spec lip?!

So As much as I love the ATLP and OEM Type S catbacks, I am not going to get a Type S rear lip just to fit them (I have an SSM and do not want to repaint) and I also personally refuse to pay 500 bucks for an OEM exhaust, or 1200 for one that isn't titanium or makes it sound like a small ferrari v8 i.e; NSX GT-One F1 V5.1. Wanted to see if anyone has/had any custom exhausts with quads on an 04-06 bumper/A-Spec lip and if you do, please post photos. I'm going to start looking for mufflers, see if I can find something that looks similar to the OEM TL-S that has angled cut quads.

Not a power increasing mod, but one using the stock mufflers with no modification to the A-spec kit itself.

Looks good. Personally I would of done slightly larger, but is that why you need a TL-S lip? The width of the opening is only 6"?

From the back it looks good, but they look a bit too small from the sides...hmm ugh why wouldn't Honda make TL-S's in SSM...grrr.

My 2 cents. You get what you pay for with the ATLP.

Why do you think it should be made out of Titanium? Quality grade Ti costs more, and it's a lot harder to properly weld than stainless. The sell price would be way more 1200 for a 2 muffler cat back in 100% Titanium.

OP, you'll just have to go custom, like Red Voodoo. There are actually several examples in the Photograph Gallery.

Just personal preference. I bought my J's Racing 60rs for my S2000 for 1100 used. Retail is 1850. I bought the Magnaflow 3" turboback for my old 08 STi for 450 shipped. There was a huge difference in quality and craftsmanship. Definately agree with you on you get what you pay for, my J's ti system is flawless, sounds amazing and holds up great with CT weather. The magnaflow cbe I had not so much. The "Stainless" piping started to surface rust after 8 months and the banjo clamps were garbage. The ATLP is a nice system, but unless it looks like this...

and sound likes this...
then personally I wouldn't pay that much for a used stainless catback.

Now if they offered a nice titanium system that sounded great then I'd be willing to drop up to 2 grand on one since thats what they generally go for depending on the complexity. Not knocking on ATLP or their quality by any means its just a personal preference. Just like I see no point in spending $9,000 in a pair of NSX-R Recaro's when you could buy a set of Gias Low Max's for 1/4 the price, or Pole Positions for less then half the price which are pratically identical.

I did some searching but only found RedVoodoo and another member who had the same kind of tips on an NBP TL w/o any rear lip. I searched Quad Tip. I'll try custom catback or exhaust this time.

Yeah... You are pretty limited when it comes down to space on the base bumper/A-spec trim. What tip diameter are you looking for? I know ATLP quads have 4" tips. The tips I have are 3", if I recall correctly.

Anyways, it sounds like you are looking for performance enhancements (hehe, yeah, I said it) out of your exhaust, so my way isn't going to work. If you want quads, then the Type-S bumper is about your only option that I know of.

Good luck!

yup, type S, but I extended the tips a bit more to get them to stick out. The aspec bumper tends to cover them a bit & keep them from showing. I wanted to see them from a SIDE profile... See the first pic up at the top.

That looks pretty damn good. I thought of doing that, but I was not comfortable doing that type of work to the trim piece, nor was I sure if it would look good. Thanks for showing us this. It is definitely another good option if you are handy with a dremel. Maybe I'll "upgrade" someday in the future.

Me. If I take out the inner plastic part it will go up higher. I just got a shipment of carbon fiber so I might widen the hole and make new surrounds.
