Does anyone here get like a whistling/annoying noise after installing the UR underdrive pulley?

I get this noise when the car is cold. The noise gets louder once i turn the steering wheel all the way on a cold vehicle

 

did you replace the belt as well? i had a similar sound coming from mine for some time. not right away but developed later. i sprayed some belt conditioner on the belt. the annoying sound is now gone. $4 belt spray FTW!

 

with mine I tried the belt spray... didnt work... so I replaced the belt w/ one from rock auto that was name brand... garrett I believe it is could be gator though rofl

yeah i replaced the belt because it is an underdrive...and also yes again...because it developed a little while after....probably a few months down the line

 

I had the same issue. Belt spray would immediately eliminate it, but it would come back after several minutes. It actually seemed to be worse when it was warm out (maybe the cold tightens the belt and eliminates squeal?). Now after having had the pulley for over a year, I don't hear the noise anymore. It just seemed to work itself out I suppose.

 

sounds like a problem with your powersteering, i just got the recall performed on the ps pum and hoses, after experiencing the same issues, now it sounds perfect you might want to make sure that acura has performed this service.

 

craig is right. I know in my wrx when I turned it almost sounded like hydrolics = power stering pump.
