Project TL: Engine swap has begun!

ok, first of all, you are trying to get this running with emanage blue??
if so, you can kiss longevity/reliablity goodbye with that type of EMS. at LEAST go with emanage ultimate.
second, u can boost the stock motor reliably if u TUNED right. doesnt matter how much psi you push, its about how much HP you make on a stock motor. RSX's have taken the stock K-engines past 500whp reliably and safetly on c16. (@ 33psi via GT35R), stock CRV k24 engines have lasted past 600whp. surely the stock 3.2L will be able to handle 300-400whp easily IF AND ONLY IF TUNED good.
this is where the trouble is, there's no solid EMS for the TL that i know of. Hondata is not making anything similar to their Kpro system for the TL.
i've only read the 1st page of this thread but already see some things with your plan that may cause issues in the future: emanage (blue).
GL with the build.

1. Get '04 MDX 3.5L cyl. block and swap it's pistons with '03 CL Type S to lower compression a bit.
2. 2 new head gaskets.
3. RL cams or TL-S cams (whichever less). Not much difference in lift vs. regular TL but I just want it and getting a good deal on it.
4. Get the blower kit with regular pulley in the future.
Thanks 02AV6 for advice

Be careful though you dont want to much duration on a car meant for forced induction.

I am not using the E-manage blue. I am using the E-manage ultimate. Right now I am working with another person that has a turbocharged 7th gen Accord on tuning Tuning the e-manage ultimate. The 7th geb Accord crowd , both supecharged and turbocharged, seems to be having good results with the E-manage ultimate. We will see how it goes.

MY shop just told me that they started the car and everything seems to be running smooth. Still have some minor stuff to take care of such as some wiring and the tranny cooler.
Will update as soon as I get to drive my car when I get back in town in a week. I am excitied! This is gonna be a really Happy New Year!

How's it going there buddy? Would be awesome to have 2 S/C TL in one meet.
Check out the Meet thread Andrew.

Okay, I just came back from the shop and I am not happy. The good part is the engine started smoothly and is running good. The bad news is, the car is NOT moving. The car just won't move whether I shift it to Reverse or Drive. There are no vibration or noise what so ever.
We believe the problem is that the transmission fluid is not going into the torque converter. We filled 1 Liter of transmission fluid and the dipsticks shows that we have too much transmission fluid. We started the engine and went through all the gears which should allow the fluids to go into the torque converter but it didn't help. We already took apart everything once to double check everything so it should not be installer error.
Please note that this is a custom torque converter rebuilt by Dr.Evil. We don't know if this problem is caused by the custom torque converter. On monday we are going to put the stock torque converter back in to see if it fix the problem.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on or any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Props man. I was very pleased when I did my frankenstein swap in my 1st gen. 3.5L 6speed LSD tranny with a 125 shot, 10.8:1 CR and fully stripped (just bare metal on wheels, even took the moonroof out).
I was waiting for someone to do it into their TL.

What modification does Dr. Evil do to the converter? Is this an LSD or something? I've seen LSD's done on Mercedes before by a number of after marketers but don't recall seeing any threads on LSD's in the TL world. Is there even enough power to justify it? Who is Dr. Evil? Is that an actual marketing name or an infamous moniker affix due to problems you guys appear to be having with him/them? Not that I could afford the LSD but if there is a formal specific thread, could someone post the link to it?

The modification from Dr.EVil includes a higher stall speed and a stronger lock up clutch.
Dr.Evil is the name of a transmission company. You can try researching about them as a few members, especailly the older TL and CL, have order from them before.

if you wanted high-stall, IPT and Protorque are the leading ones in the industry. i'm currently running an IPT high stall on my auto rsx. also, did the full race overhaul trans build. absolutely love it!
but with your problem, check the shift linkages and adjustment first before blaming the TC.

This is a great setup, I figured that the V6 setups could be franked like the K series can. I do have a couple of questions though...
Lookinco: you listed the parts that you are using,
1. Can you list the years and engine codes as well please?
This will make it easier for me to do some research. I know that there are some differences between the US and Canadian K series engines, engine codes vary as well as some of the internals...
2. As far as the TL tranny compatibility, I gather from the info present you are using the new one. Can you take a pic of it where it mates to the engine?
I am looking for info on the compatibility of the new TL tranny and the RDX engine.
3. Does anyone know of any good websites that have a list of the TL engine codes with a spec sheet, measurements and so forth. Trying to learn more about these non-K series engines...
Thank's for the info regarding your build, cant wait to see it running
