Also any tips for doing the rear one? Looks tight as hell and fucking impossible..

I had to remove the radiator and fan cover shroud. Be careful not to poke a hole in the radiator. Pm stillhere153 he is on 24/7 and will guide you step by step.

rear cat?? woooo-hoooo. thats fan... remove the strut bar, and you may want to move the CC module out of the way

you'll need a good thick socket extension... remember to use the new gaskets and be careful.... those suckers can cut you NASTY.... i got the worse slit/papercut from the gasket.. i thought i was gonna need stitches

You should have gotten 2 bags with 6 nuts and bolts each. Check both the boxes.

Got the rear precat out by taking the heat shield off while it was in the bay, then shimmying them out individually.. Not fun..

But yup all done, just putting radiator fan back on..
Test drive in 20..

sweet, so did you pull the rear cat out from the top or the bottom?????. it almost seems like the rear one is the biggest prob. the front one dosent seem that bad as long as the fan/shroud is outta the way. oh and did you have any problems with the o2 sensors being really stuck in the cats???
thanks!

No way the rear cat will fit from the top. I took off both of the heatshields by the axel, and then took the heatshields off of the cat, and took them down 1 by 1.

Glad to see a few guys going at this the diy way, hope my thread helped

This is one mod that needs to be done by someone with some-sort of basic automotive skills... Don't do it if you've never held a ratchet in your hands

Your DIY did help.. Thanks

Haha this is true.. Not brain surgery but not easy or fun by any means..

One question for anyone who has precats/jpipe/testpipe and stock exhaust w/ stage 3 with deleted mid muff & dynamax res..

Do you have any rasp? My car has a slight rasp at about 2-3k now and its kinda annoying...

BTW car def sounds alot more aggressive.. Not for the feint of heart

its the dynomax res... its there to amplify the stock exhaust note... via the stage 3...

if you want the rasp to go... the dynomax has to go.... replace it with a real resonator

I favor the aero resonator but any "real" resonator will eliminate the rasp

i get the metal shaking sound from 2k-4k rpm ONLY when the car is cold... its the heatshield on the drive shaft... some people chose to remove theres

i have NO rasp what so ever on my car, just that damn vibration.. once i give the car a full throttle once, the sound is gone until the car is cold again... summer or winter, doesnt matter

Oh yeah now that I think about it, I think that is partially what I hear..

I was gunna remove that but I forgot and by the time I saw it I was already lazy..
Do you guys think any harm could be done by removing it? I mean its there for a reason..

you can remove it by getting skillfull with a 12mm rachet... I would remove it simply to avoid the vibration

its there to protect the halfshaft from the stock cats which light up and get extremely hot...

with the precat deletes it seas nowhere near the hgih temperatures

wait sooooo what goes on wiht the O2 sensors once the precats are in only 2 of the 4 get used or none get used? i just got them off the blackmarket from one of the members and he said all the stuff richie put in the box is there and is pretty much self explanatory but i still dont get the O2 thing. I got a P0420 code in the car the other day and i looked it up in the service manual and they say to replace the cat. obviously Im not but maybe an O2 is bad as well???

There is 2 o2's per precat. No the o2 sensor is not bad, there would be a code come up for the o2 sensors and it would say which one.

Yes, but they are fragile so you need to be careful with them, also make sure you ONLY touch the bolt, not the sensor. and MAKE SURE YOU APPLY ANTI SEIZE! Otherwise you will never be able to get them off

No, the o2 sensor does not sit inside the pipe like in normal cats. They are not exposed to any fumes. If you look at the precat delete, there is only a very small hole for the o2 sensor to "sniff" the fumes. It is so small that it barely sniffs anything, and anything it does sniff is considered normal.

Correct me if I am wrong please

^ yup richie includes double stacked defoulers on the lower 2 o2 sensors...

for those of you get o2 catalytic codes you can get smaller one's from richie but you should really return the one's he sent you originally so he can make those smaller and replace for other people

So, I was showing off my RV6 kit (still in the box till next week) to a buddy and just noticed something that I didn't before. Is there supposed to be a slight crimp near the bottom flange of one of the Pre-cat's? It looks purposeful like for clearance around something but, still has me sweating a little. Never saw that in the pictures.
