But whats the point in making claims of X amount of hp and showing time slips if people refuse to share how they did it?
Its like saying, HEY everyone, LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME

We can't talk about air and then fuel seperately. We talk about flow, flow rates. We talk about having the proper A/F ratio (tuning).
We don't just make air passages as big as possible as I discuss in my post directly above.
We don't try to get as much compression as possible.
We don't make it sound like "oh, it's simple, just increase the efficiency". It is not that easy.
It is not similar to FI. NA plays by it's own special rules and requirements.

yes, FI is simpler, but the basics are the same, which is what i stated.

Gerzand did give me his number through PM. I haven't called him because honestly I mostly think about this while I'm at work (when I have no work to be done) and obviously can't call while I'm at work. I forget once I get home otherwise I would've called him already.
Let me ask you this: If you are willing to share information over the phone, why are you so unwilling to share that same info over the internet? And if being fed "on a silver platter" would apply to one asking questions over the internet, why wouldn't it be applied to that same person calling and asking you the same question(s)?

As mentioned by Sonnick in another thread (click here), why not just use the 3.7TL SHAWD manifold instead of porting the original manifold?
4TH Gen SH-AWD Intake Manifold & Throttle Body on 3RD Gen (click here)
But please note, that this kills low-end power as noted in the linked thread. Also, as noted by Sonnick in the below quote,
I am not surprised by the results. I have played with intake manifolds a lot on small block chevy engines. As this forum is aware, having too large of an exhaust (especially J-pipe diameter) will hurt low-end power, the intake is the same way. Make the intake track too large for the application, killing the velocity, and the low-end power will get killed.
This is why I mentioned in another post that hot rodding is all about "right sizing" of all the components.

I didn't do it. All credit goes to df2pika on V.6.P
I am just posting it and saved a copy so I know what to do when I do my IM![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
@Inaccurate you are right. A lot of people have been having issues with the 3.7 IM. There was a post on it on v.6.p where he swap one on to his 3.0 with TL-S cams and he never got it to run 100%. It was always reading vacuum leak. Probably because there wasn't enough velocity/ pressure. This is why I suggest using the OEM one and doing a Polish just to smoothen the path, and gasket matching the ports.
After this is done. The main restriction in the engine would be the undersize exhaust valves. Since the engine will be now be running near max intake ability. I know Keit on V.6.p has increased his exhaust valves by +1 or 2mm.

^ its before the injectors. should be okay since what I researched the roughness usually apply towards older car that use CARBs. So they use the roughness to swirl the Air fuel mixture. Since our car use injectors it should be okay to be that smooth in the finish.

The work on the manifold looks awesome. I've never seen someone get the 'whole' mani ported. I'm not sure how mine is, as it was done by P2R. It doesn't look welded like that, so I imagine only the under portion was done, and possibly the mouth. I'd love some work like this though, looks professionally done. The ports almost look like ITBs lol.

Side note: Was your mani ported like above or just the mouth/lower portion?

All I know is Andy and his ride are legit....I have been burned by tons of people when i write something....and since I am not that knowledgeable to back my shit up, I start thinking otherwise....
anyway....I think if someone like Sonnick or Inaccurate talk to Andy, they would make more sense of the info that I could....

Rules to calling Andy.
1. Press record on whatever device you want. ( ie. phone, camera)
2. Dial his number, and start the normal chitchat before going down to business.
3. Ask your questions, and listen very carefully to EVERYTHING.
4. Say thanks and hang up.
5. Listen to everything that was said again and now put some thought into it. If you still dont understand, call someone else who will and play it for them.
6. Now that you have andy's thought on your question, you probably came up with more questions, so now go back to #1. if you dont have any more questions, go to step 7.
7. Go do what andy said.
8. Drive your car back home in amazement.
9. Go to Acurazine and post up how you did something that made crazy horsepower and torque but you cant tell anyone cuz Andy said not to.![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

It's pretty shitty of some on here to criticize Andy for not being "open" about his build. Andy is a good guy who I have talked with in person a few times. He has offered to help me mod my car and while I haven't been able to take him up on his offer just yet, his offer was 100% genuine.
I am confident that once his project is completed, he will thoroughly document each step of the way for the good of the 3G community. Patience guys.

He's not gonna post the build yet, although that's what I thought build threads were for? But I can also see how a lot of build threads go unfinished on any forum, and that he wants to make sure it's 100% done before he says anything as to not disappoint.
Like I said I am going to call him one of these days, but my lips will be sealed

I wonder what a full cut/weld, port/polish job like that would cost. I'm sure P2R or Kings would do it, but it might just be easier to send it out to Extrude Hone.
Maybe I'll just get adventurous and dremel out the sides on mine, port it myself, then take it to a local muffler shop and have it welded back up. All it needs is a standard arc weld.

^^ After it was welded back per se, would you have to blow it out to make sure there are no 'weld remains' in the ports?

So, that leaves Extrude Hone:
http://www.extrudehone.com/polish_su...ce_finish.html
And to get a rough idea on pricing, I found this link to a place that sources OEM SRT 4 manifolds that have been ported by Extrude Hone. They're selling them for $399 with their markup, so I'd estimate EH charges no more than $300. That wouldn't be too bad a price actually.
http://www.modernperformance.com/ext...t4-p-1112.html
I'm sure you can have EH tailor the process to fit your application as far as how smooth you want to go, by altering the composition of the media they force through it. I don't think I'd want mine quite as polished as the above pics.

If you get some decent gains, it's really not much money. People pay $300 for an intake that nets what, 3-5 hp? Taking forced induction off the table, other than maybe PCD's and a J Pipe, you're looking at 75-100 bucks per hp on these cars.
They're on crack. What were they going to do, specifically?

U guys suck. Now this is what I been doing with my time. No money to mod! No problem! make your own.
using an RL throttle body but it turns out it might be the same diameter as the OEM accord/TL/TL-S one. I will measure it the accord when I have time.
![](http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m77/thisaznboi88/port%20and%20polish%20time/77bd80a0.jpg)
inlet ~66mm, will thickness 3.07mm

I will try to port it until its 68mm inlet and outlet or as much as the gasket without screwing with the butterfly.
P2R gasket size 44.67mm -> ~45mm
![](http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m77/thisaznboi88/port%20and%20polish%20time/c093daf5.jpg)
manifold and runners will be port matched to this ~45mm
today progress....
First I marked off the area of the butterfly that I don't want to touch. And then I marked up the back and put a nice scratch to show how much I need to remove.
start with a burr

Good work bro....but just remember that once you bore the throttle body, your butteryfly will be 4-6mm smaller....make sure you get a bigger butterfly....
other than that, great bitching work....
