PNP runners or P2R spacer

if you already have pnp intake runners is it pointless to get run the plenum spacer?

the setup I was looking to go with is
1.j37 intake mani with j37 TB
2.P2R or hondata plenum gaskets
3. p2r tb spacer plus gasket
4. pnp intake runners
5. P2r plenum spacer?????
I just got a complete j37 intake manifold swap for $250 bucks today and i want the best possible setup with it

I once read somewhere which i cannot currently find is that if your already running pnp runners there is no reason to run the plenum spacer together its either one or the other. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

ive always read/heard that you get the spacer or the pnp runners. but i do know some people swear by a spacer so that is up to you.

don't get the TB spacer it's just a waste of money. you'll see no gains from it.

Thank you very much. I was actually going to PM you this question. I found an article on a j series foreum last night that stated the same. What about the P@R thermal gaskets. Others have said that they get hard and break and you end up having leakes. I thought Hondata made set but I guess they don't after looking at their site. Thanks again

i stayed away from p2r's thermal gaskets because i have seen and talked to a few people that had issues. is that a common issue? i don't think so and you'll probably be fine, but it is good to know that it has happened in the past...decision is up to you. i personally run the outlaw engineering thermal gasket but that company has been since discontinued and luckily i found one on the BM a few years back.

Get the spacer it will shift your tq down at the cost of top end. Makes daily driving better. And yes you can run the P2r spacer with the runners. You cannot run the mdx spacer with the P2r runners because the mdx spacer is taper whereas the P2r spacer is straight through

Ok do I want to port match the intake mani to the runners and spacer. I'm doing an all motor build. Next step after getting the manifold setup complete I have J35 heads with stage 2 bisi cams. On top of everything else I know that everyone has differing opinions. But in the long run im trying to pinpoint what will be the best setup for an all motor build

1. J37 Intake Manifold with J37 TB
2. PNP Lower Runners
3. AEM V2 Intake/ Might go airraid 4 inch piping
4. RV6 HFPC
5. RV6 V3 J pipe with Custom X Merge
6. RV6 True Dual Exhaust
7. J35 Heads with Bisi stage 2 cams
8. Flashpro

This is what I have so far

P2R made a poor choice of plastic to use for their thermal gaskets. I had one and ended up throwing it out before ever using it because I determined it was likely polyethylene. The temperature range is too low for that type of plastic.
It will get soft when it heats up and continued thermal cycling will make it brittle over time. The proper choice for a thermal gasket is Teflon. I designed my own and had a few made out of Teflon last year for me and my friends. I'm planning
on making some more soon. PM me if you want one.

i'm also going to spring for the lightweight stock size pulley from xlr8 and call it a day with performance mods!
