PnP install/injector issue...need help

so i've been slowly doing the PnP install (lower runners, thermoblock spacer, PnP manifold, bored TB), but i ran into a major issue tonight. i had a really hard time getting my fuel rails out with the injectors and when i took out the rear one, one of the injectors came out of its snap fit and leaked fuel.

i tried for a long time to put the injector back in and get it to snap in place but with lots of force i still couldn't get it far enough in to allow the spring clamp to keep it in place (spring clamp not shown). below is a picture of the injector end and the hole in the fuel rail. there is a hard o-ring on the injector, brownish color, and i think it has to be forced into the smaller opening in the fuel rail hole.

do i just keep pushing as hard as i can to get it to go in?
should i put the injector in the lower runner and then put the fuel rail on top and put my weight behind it and hope it will snap in?

any suggestions are appreciated...this is my DD but this week i'm in a carpool, but i would like to get this solved right away. thanks in advance, this install has been harder than the HFPCs so far (i had the hardest time getting to the left rear runner bolt and had to strip all electronics and random braces out to barely be able to access it)

When I did the PnP install late last year, I didn't think it was that hard at all.

From what I can tell in the picture and from what I remember , the Injector should be fully seated when the little notch on the back of the injector lines up with the little cutout on the fuel rail.

If you can get the Injector back out, you could put a little dab of oil on the o-ring to make it easier.

the o-ring needs to be put back on the injector before you slip it back into the fuel rail.. based on what I see in the pic, the o-ring is sitting in the fuel rail.
