The catback is the first major section. It includes the tips, mufflers, and midpipe. Replacing this section will mostly add a performance sound and pick you up a few extra horsepower. We sell our XLR8 catback exhausts. We have resonated and non-resonated versions available for your vehicle depending on if you want more cabin noise/drone or not.
XLR8 Exhaust Systems - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!
The next section of the exhaust is the J-Pipe/3rd catalytic converter. The cat is very restricting for exhaust flow, so getting rid of it will give you a bit more power. The 3rd cat is also not monitored, so you will not get a check engine light by removing it. We sell our V2 J-Pipe that deletes the third catalytic converter and will add a nice growl to your exhaust tone.

Installing bigger cams from the j35a8 or j37a1 would be the best mod for the most power. Combine this with FlashPro and you can make even more power for less money than you would doing an expensive exhaust system.
THEN after you install cams add breather mods such as intake, exhaust, etc. Running a CAI setup here will give you the desired sound you were originally after in addition to added power.

There is alot of debate about the mods you can make to the car
Exhaust you have 3 older options and a new 4th option that is untested as of now
-XLR8 cat back exhaust/J-pipe You can find those here: [URL="http://store.excelerateperformance.com/xlr8_performance/b-10668.aspx?aid=9260446]
-RV6 cat back exhaust/J-pipe You can find that one here:Heeltoe Automotive :: Specializing in High Performance, Customer Service, and Consultation For Distinctive Honda & Acura Clients
-ATLP V2 or V2-R cat back exhaust/J-pipe Can be found in the same place as the RV6
and the newest one is the endlessRPM cat back exhaust/J-pipe combo, they were just made and I believe are still taking pre-orders for them at a discounted price
Can be found here: Acura - TL - 3rd Gen 2004-2008 - EndLess RPM
Which one is the best is up for debate, if you want low end torque then go for the RV6, or the XLR8 they make more power lower in the RPM's than the ATLP, however if you want more power on the top end the ATLP exhasut and J-pipe is the way to go, also the ATLP V2-R is the only version that uses 3" piping in certain portions of the exhaust.
And in all honesty I don't really know anything about the endlessRPM exhaust and J-pipe, however you can find that thread here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/perform...fflers-919362/
and here:

That should get you started with the exhaust
You have alot of options for CAI, though there is alot of debate on here about whether or not they actually provide any positive outcome. When I installed my intake I had no other bolt ons present and I personally felt a difference in the lower portion of my power band and I have the AEM V2 intake that can be found at all three of the sites I listed above.
If you want to get a little more into the exhaust modification you can go with high flow cats made by RV6, or you can go with the pre-cat deletes, the result is a lower cell count, or no cell count at all; this will decrease the amount of restrictions in your exhaust system and allow for better flow.
You can also modify the manifold, runners and throttle body, alot of guys on here sent there manifolds and throttle body out to get ported and polished (PnP), this increases the diameter of the intake allowing more air flow into the engine.
If you want a better overall ride look into a nice set of coilovers search under the suspension threads and you'll find alot of info on this
In all honesty there is alot of things you can do to modify your car for performance, your best bet is to click on the performance link that will take you to hundreds of threads about these topics.
Hope this helps

Depends. I could do this swap for a few hundred bucks myself. That's to buy decent used parts and doing all the work myself. Otherwise, finding a GOOD and CHEAP shop is your biggest obstacle here. Not to mention tuning which is as easy as eTunes from someone like Vit.
