OP dont listen to your buddy. Research first and figure out your goals; thats the first step to get a better understanding.

Apparently, your buddy doesn't know you have two cams, so don't listen to him. Do some research here. There are tons of more cost effective mods you should do before even thinking about cams. I've pretty much exhausted all the standard bolt ons for this car and I'm thinking of head porting and tuning and just keeping the stock cams at this point.

^^

Lovin' it. Looks so stealth, almost OEM! The AEM was looking too ricey to me. I'll be updating the thread I started about the Airaid soon with a bunch of pics from the install. It was a TIGHT fit.

Who did your heads?

Which cams are you guys using? I'm looking at doing my heads eventually and had my eye on bisi stage 2 cams, maybe stage 1.

Haven't really looked too much into the profile differences yet, but noticed some were just using the Type-S cams on the base cars.

So which did you go with??

I'd think you wouldn't want to go too crazy with the profiles, since big cams move the powerband up if I'm not mistaken and kills the idle.

i have a stage 3 regrind and was able to preserve all bottom end torque. You are somewhat correct about idle - I had to raise the idle to about 1k rpm to avoid choking the motor.

I am convinced regrinding TL cams is not the best way to go, which is why I say I agree with bouncer. At this point, my experience with it says a fully custom cam is the way to go, not a regrind. That's the only way you're going to get the center lines to match up perfectly and make the most power.

Whats you budget and how much HP do you want to gain? CAI, PCD, J pipe, Test pipe, and exhaust should all be done first unless you go turbo.

cold air intake and the midmuffler delete didnt do anything for you in the performance department.

you'll need to replace parts of the exhaust with bigger diameter piping.
RV6 sells pre-cat deletes and high flow cats and a bigger diameter jpipe and a bigger diameter exhaust.
http://rv6-p.com/

once you finish the exhaust and if you want to continue, then maybe you can upgrade to the 3.7 SHAWD intake manifold and its respected throttle body.

then if you want to continue more, you can grab a 4 inch intake.

Again OP figure out your goals. Where are you trying to get to? How much money are you willing to spend? etc etc etc

Search and research bro

The TL isn't you're typical Civic where you can put in stage 1,2,3, cams in. You're better off investing a turbo if you are going all motor set up in this Acura. In a Civic, you can put in cams and bolt-ons for the price of about $3500. In the TL, that $3500 will cost you just for the cams alone. Go turbo.

Cams in the J series have a low dollar per HP gain. If you just wanting some more power then do known bolt-ons. You will save a lot of time and money if you create a reasonable plan and set some goals.

Thats good to hear. I was contemplating on whether or not I should buy it.

I bought my heads from thisaznboi88 and he got them from Paul, NV6 something I think is his usename, which he did the port himself.

I havent install anything yet because I am reading more on the camshafts.

You guys (ILC and bouncer)are referring to the cams if you are going N/A and not boost correct or it goes both ways?

I ported my heads, no, 2.5" down pipes to 3" single and dropping the motor in a car half the weight of a TL

If you want to go faster quicker look at weight reduction also!
