Optima battery superior/worth changing over to?

This new Optima battery is supposed to be superior in many ways to conventional ones. In some publications they claim longer life, better heat resistance , cranking power etc.etc. I like to know if any of you are familiar with this new generation of batteries or can substantiate these claims. Here in the Florida heat your batteries sometimes do not even last 3 years. Would be nice if another critical component can be upgraded. Thanks for your input.

Wait 4-6 years when you might need one to place the stocker.

I have an Optima in the Firebird.

The yellow top is what i have been useing for years.. I use the deep cycle batteries because of all the stereo stuff in my car. I have never had to jump my car because of the battery going dead from the stereo playing (while the car wasnt running). It only took the factory batt 45 minutes to drain and need to be jumped.
