Hi guys, I am new to acurazine and I've been going through some forums debating on which exhaust system to get for my 06 TL. I don't want anything that's crazy loud, seems like Comptech exhaust catback seems reasonable. Anyways, my question is does anyone have this setup or any other branded exhaust system but did not install a cai? Do you still get a nice tone or is cai highly recommended (for sound, not performance gains). I've been debating on an AEM cai as well just not sure I want to gain the risk of hydrolocking.

go with catback exhaust, if you want sound take resonator out of you stock intake, same sound. exhaust will give you more gains

I think the exhaust tone gets slightly louder with CAI because of more air going in? or maybe just psychological. IMO I like the sound with stock intake and exhaust more =] or just CAI with stock exhaust +stage 1-3. Here are some comparisons:

I don't like to hear the CAI hiss while trying to listen to the exhaust note, that's just me though. Hope this helped

ATLP exhaust, take out the stock resonator in the intake to save money, and achieve similar sound.
