I like to use silicone lube just try not to get any inside the intake tube and you should be fine!

Windex. It is soapy and slippery. However, it will dry to leave a grippy fit. Do not use lube that will remain slippery - Hint = slip on, slip off. If you have no windex, make a mild solution of dish soap.

Will any glass cleaner work? I have some generic, but it says it has ammonia in it.

Thanks

I put the rubber piece on the ram than forced it onto the throttle body... the bottom part was giving me hell to slip over so I used my fingers to slip it over (throttle body was still hot which sucked_ but it it worked)

best of luck

Finally installed. I was prepared to hear the whistle which is common, but unsure of a noise when blipping the thottle. Sounds like something tapping a tin can.

Also, my radio clock is blinking and can't reset after taking out the battery.

Is this a possible error?

Thanks

Tin can?
Clock blinking?
Unplug battery again

I installed a fujita... it sounds like a wolf screaming from getting f*cked in the a$$

Ps. My clock's time didn't change my install took an hour and it isn't an hour slow... just punched in navi code then punched in radio code... 1 thing I forgot was to plug the fog light back in (I unplugged by mistake) took me 5 minutes to figure out where the little harness gets plugged into... and by that time I had break dust all over my hands

yes a tin can....thats the bset way to describe it. I blip the throttle, tin can sound. I turn the car off, it does it once also.

Not a constant tapping...just sounds like the valve in the throttle body or something.

I have heard of that "tin can" sound before on a different car with SRI when shutting off. I think it is the metal valve/flap in the TB. I am not sure though.

It might be ur filters touching some portion of either the battery braket or the side of the bumper

When blipping the throttle, the engine will slightly twist on the motor mounts. This will be enough to cause the CAI tube to be pushed close to the car body to lightly hit against the body. WITH THE ENGINE *OFF*, examine the CAI tube as it snakes thru the body. Look closely at the area behind and under the battery. This is the tightest fitting area for the pipe. This opening will be a square shaped hole. If the tube has less than approx 1/4 inch clearance anywhere along it's length, this might be your problem.

To fix it, loosen one of the clamps on the pipe/throttle body to allow the pipe to be rotated. While looking at the tight opening behind the battery, twist the pipe until it is centered in the opening. Now, tighten the clamp. Verify again that the pipe is still centered.

For fear of water intrusion, I only installed the CIA as an SRI. The more I hear the sound when turning off, the more it sounds like air rushing out creating a pressurized sound maybe. I'll go back in tomorrow and check everything again.

Is the SRI suppose to butt up agains the throttle body when clamped together? The rubber tube supplied by K&N seems awful short, so I'm guessing that maybe with your suggestion of motor twist, the throttle body is actually hitting the end of the SRI....or is that they it is meant to me.

I apologize for all of the questions as this is all new to me.

I do appreciate the feedback.

From my experiences installing past intake cold/short I've never put them that close together so they touch... try and see if that is the culprit, put them as close as you can without actual touching...

Ok, to make sure I did everything right and peace of mind, I took it to 2 different places this morning where several of the techs have experience doing the SRI install. They looked over everything and said what I was hearing is perfectly normal. Said it was a good install. When blipping the throttle, the sound I am hearing is the butterfly in the throttle body.

The noise I was hearing at shut off was just the pressurized air releasing itself.

Just want to thank everyone for all of their help and advice.

After installing the Stage 2 setup and the SRI, I'm done modding for awhile

Now I have a mean sounding 4 door grocery getter with 2 kid seats in the back

Love it so far. Getting a good feel where the sweet spot is for the automatic. I love it at stop lights. People just see a tinted up Accord, until I hit it. Sounds mean. Here's a few pics.

What do you think?

I wonder how hard it would be to do a TL conversion to the front end of an av6 (hint hint)

I'll probably leave it badged, but getting the urge to do something else, so I went ahead and ordered the dynomax...going to try stage 3.

If I don't like it, I'll convert back to stage 2.

Either way, I'll sell which ever one I dont keep.
