Nitrous on TL
Nitrous on TL
I know there was that other thread, but it was only half on topic, plus my new questions would have been 3 pages down..
I'm quite familiar with nitrous, have sprayed a dozen different cars, all successfully. Done wet and dry (all three different strategies of dry), typically domestic stuff but we did get after an RSX in '04 (more about that later maybe).
Anyway, for an '05 TL, what is the standard spark plug? What are you guys going to for spray? Technically platinum and iridium tips aren't recommended for spray, so are you also going to a copper core plug when going colder?
What is the fuel pressure on a TL? Is there a gauge/diagnostic port on the fuel rails somewhere to tap in to for a wet kit? For those that have been spraying your cars wet, what jets are you using? I'm probably just thinking 50hp, no need to push my luck...
Whats your favorite place to mount the microswitch (near pedal or near throttle body)? Any pics?
I've got a couple window switches from other projects, what's the easiest place to tap in for an RPM signal? I typically spray from 3000rpm to 500 before the rev limiter, but I read that a few of you start around 3500. Is there a particular reason for this?
Are there any strategies to pull timing? Would be nice to actually fiddle with the ECU directly, but would be passified with an indirect timing mod. On GM products, we altered the Air Inlet Temp sensor feedback, which when you tell the ECU it's hot out, it pulls a couple degrees of timing. Seems like we could make a similar mod to these that is active when you arm the system...if any of you knew what/where to tap in and how much to alter the signal..
That's about it for now. Fuel, timing, spark plugs are the critical components. On that RSX, we didn't alter timing, just cold plug and 35, 50, 75hp shots in a single wet nozzle. We eventually nipped a plug, so it got backed down to 50hp. Here's the dyno charts from that car.. Flat torque curve (barring Vtec jump), nice work Honda!
Baseline

Spray

Thanks in advance,
TJ
PS - the screen name is in regard to my chevelle project car. In a previous life it had a plate kit, now it's got a fogger and a few more cubes, but for screen name consistency across forums, I keep it. And yes I deal specifically with NOS brand parts...not nawsss

i dont know much about N2O, but everyone on here will tell you that you cant run a dry kit on the TLs.
EDIT: this is an informative thread on N2O
