Nitrous Question!!!!
Cody, without a doubt as long as its a WET kit, try NOS for their drive by wire wet kit, it suits the TL perfect. You will have to tap into the stock fuel line for the fuel supply. I did a TL with the comptech s/c AND a 50 hp wet kit. Car ran 13.1 @ 108 on street tires with an auto.
YEAH MY BUDDY HAS A DRY KIT FOR A GOOD DEAL, BUT I HAVE HEARD GOOD AND BAD ABOUT WET AND DRY KITS?
IF YOU TAP INTO THE FUEL RAIL, THAN YOU GO TO USE THE NITROUS IT SUCKS ALL THE FUEL TO THE INTAKE AND OUT OF THE RAIL AND LESS FUEL FOR THE INJECTORS AND COULD POSSIBLY LEAN OUT???
BUT A DRY KIT WOULD LET THE SAME AMOUNT OF FUEL TO THE INJECTORS???
Thats just what i heard but please let me know if i am incorrect...
Thanks,

Dry kits work fine for mass air flow systems NOT speed density systems. The returnless fuel system in the tl is more then adaquate for 75 hp. I wouldnt spray more then that on pump gas as you are only relying on the knock sensor to retard timing and after the sensor picks up detination times almost up for your motor. I would suggest a 50-50 mix of 100 octane and 93 octane to be on the safe side. Your not talking about alot of power here (as compared to my race car that i spray 300hp on a single stage and 400hp on a dual stage this year) but i like to tune and run on the conservative side. You can always play another day if your safe or go balls out for a day and and find out the wrong way what goes wrong. The s/c tl that i did with nitrous DID blow up. The car had a bad knock sensor circuit in the acm and i told him not to beat on it till i we replaced the acm, we'll he didnt heed my warning and SPARAYED it racing an evo till he gernaded the motor. I put a motor in the following day, $2000, hard lesson learned.

Ryan, i hear that...
Sometimes i wonder if it isnt the other way around. Sometimes the people arent safe with spray, rather than the motor, let alone any modifications.
this isnt directed at you coiledoutTL, just a general statement about people
Good luck with your car!

I ran a 75 shot NX Wet Kit with no problems. The problem I had was all the extra can get it upthere!
NX Wet Kit- $800
Bottle Warmer kit- $200
Bottle Opener- $ 200
Autometer gauges- $150
I have ran nitrous on:
97 Accord- SE - 4 banger
97 Accord EX- v6
01- CLS
03- CLS
I could probably count on two hands the number of times I sprayed. It is all in how you use it.
the mustsng dry kit uses fuel enrichment by appling regulated nitrous pressure to the fuel pressure regulator to add more fuel pressure thus adding more fuel through the fuel injectors. You cannot run a dry kit with no fuel enrichment, well you can for sometime LOL you get the point.
I ran a basically stock 305 in my camaro for two with a 150 hp shot 11.43 @118 with over 200!!! passes on nitrous. Sold the motor with less then 9% leak down in all cylinders. Stock rods with arp bolts, stock crank, kb hyperutectic pistons, small cam 262 .472 stock heads, 650 demon carb, rpm air gap intake. New motor 9.10 @ 153 on a 200 hp shot. 434 sbc. I can keep goin but no need to.
The topic is what is SAFE for the TL. I would without a doubt run a 100 hp WET shot on my TL with 100 octane race gas. The motor and fuel system WILL handle it. I would rather be able to retard my timing instead of reling on my knock sensor to do the job but i am confident that the octane in the gas will prevent the detination. I would definetely run two heat ranges colder on the spark plugs with 75 or 100 hp worth and one heat range colder with 35 or 50. I would run a heater and a purge along with the kit.

ok so its a fuel related issue, I was just curious what the difference was in the TL. My only other experience was tuning a fogger kit on my friends Musi built 406 sbc...sounds like a similar setup to yours 8.90 152
Bike is on order, ordered it about a month ago. Its not a gamble, its about doing it right and deciding whats right for your combo. People throw everything they can at a stock motor THEN add nitrous for as cheap as they can and never bother with upgading the fuel system and so forth.
AH musi yes a good nitrous guru. I have had the pleasure of dealing with a few of his motors. I have a Scott Shafiroff 434 sbc that makes 675 hp and 630 ft lbs on 100 octane gas set up for the street Never dynoed it on nitrous but have run 200 hp worth so far down the track, that was 9.10 @ 153 ran out of gear and was spinning the motor too high (7400 rpm) motor makes max power at 6800 so im screaming her down the track on spray but perfect on motor 9.89 @ 137 mph.

the musi motor actually started its life coming from Shafroff, started its life in a footbrake bracket car, then was sent to Musi while the 10.5 car was being built it made 600 and change all motor running 9.80-90s the 10.5 car ran bracket consistant, but needed a dominator and a tighter converter, it made just around 900 hp with a pretty conservative tuneup. I wish we got to play with that car more, he ended up tearing it apart and refuses to put it back together with anything less than a 7 second motor.....so it looks like I'll have to wait a lil while longer
