i was looking at various exhaust systems on 3g TLs and i came across something called cutouts. Im not sure what they are or what they do but it sounds like this...

Electric cutouts are kind of like Y's placed between exhaust piping, so 2 ends of the cutout are pipes and 1 is open with an electric gate. With the E-Cutout what you can do is switch the flip so that the gate is open or closed, makes the car loud/quiet and the airflow dumped right out or through the exhuast if closed.

so basically when u wnat sound u can open it and when u dont u can close it...very nice. is it worthwhile to do over just replacing the mufflers and resonators with magnaflows and is there a performance increase?

e cutouts usualy will give out or sound like a crappy exhaust leak. no point to just sound obnoxious.

My bro has it in his WS6 Trans Am, he loves it. Not my personal taste but it is on a muscle car so it sounds good and he gets a ton of compliments. However I don't think so on a TL...plus it might just be a ton of future trouble.

i had a integra and i did the electronic cutoff and it was lovely but i got a 08 tl type s now and it already sounds good and y would u make ur car loud if its like a luxuary car

I thought they meant "cutout" as in the exhaust port is missing that gray cap thing.
