NEWBIE with questions

Hi all,

I wanna first apologize as my first post is going to be a double post on the performance and general section. I'm not sure where it should belong.

I'm new to this car mod thing. I purchase my 2008 Acura TL type s 2 years ago and now i feel like it's not fast enough for me. I looked into gettnig another vehicle and my friend advise that i can easily mod my car to make it faster. Any Advice? Know any place that I can go around New York City/Queens/Brooklyn/Long Island or anywhere near by?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks. Another reason why I wanted to get anther car is that I regret not getting it in white. It's so hot. Black is hot too but too difficult to keep clean.

Ok I read the other post. It seems like there are lots of options out there. Would you know whether or not these mods will void warranty? I would not wanna risk getting my warranty voided.

Assuming that it doesn't, do I just go to a local shop and ask for it? How about dealerships?

Thanks again

There was a vendor in that thread.

Check out his website and it should have most of the stuff u can order there.

When u get the parts u can either hook them up yourself or go to a local shop to have them put them on.

Yes, they will void warranty and some will not pass smog.

Your Silver TL-S can start to look pretty sick, browse around on here & you will see some amazing photos. I have the Nighthawk Black Pearl but just browse around and get ideas. If you love your Type-S you might as well mod it, what were you thinking about getting for more power?

Ekkk, perhaps I'll wait till I have more miles on this car. Currently 13,000 miles. Got a long way to go. Thought about selling the car or trading it in but it's so flawless and i know i'll end up regretting it.

Izzy, i'm completely new. I'll start browsing and see what is there. I felt that silver was kinda boring. Well lately, i have been hungry for power. Test drove 335i, audi s4, g37 and i feel like i need more power. I dont find g37 being fast at all.

I love my TL. It's relatively fast and it got plenty of room. If i were to keep it stock, i might as well use it as a daily driver and get another one for the performance.

I read that bmw and audi has chip mod that increase a lot of hp and rq. I'll do some more research around here. i dont wanna start randomly asking tons of newbie questions and end up annoying everyone on the forum lol

You can start with a K&N drop-in filter. That will add more horsepower and acceleration without voiding warrant.

I dont know how far u are willing to risk it, but u can put on a j-pipe+3rd cat delete to add more power. Just be careful which dealer u bring it to. Some are koo about it
