New pickup!!

Got a good deal on this. Coupling with a dynomax resonator and a 3rd muffler delete. Can't wait to see what this sounds like

Why did you buy a magnaflow high flow 3rd cat when you can just buy a test/race pipe from one of our vendors here like heeltoe or excelerate?

An actual straight pipe will yield more performance gain & sound louder while costing less than a high flow 3rd cat.

How much did you pay for that if you don't mind me asking?

I live in Nj. Its illegal to not have the 3rd Cat and it won't pass inspection

Oh that sucks about the 3rd cat part. I'm surprised they actually do a visual inspection of the under carriage of the car.

$150 isn't a bad price at all than since 3rd cat deletes is illegal.

Yeah, so I put that in and straight pipe all the way back. I wonder if putting a dynomax resonator in would help beefen up the sound a bit

NJ and NY are two of our largest markets. I doubt they do a visual inspection.

I'm going to look into that. I also believe (correct me if im wrong) that the O2 sensor is before? the third cat so the readings would be fine because the TL has 2 pre cats.

I would like to change the piping in the future though, i just figured getting rid of that noise was a priority.

Im sure you could put in a test pipe in place and throw on a heat shield over it and they would never know.

You're right. The 3rd cat does not have a o2 sensor connected to it so everything will be fine. The o2 sensor are connected to the PRE-CATS which is before the j-pipe.

This is what I would do if you are worried sirswag. I believe there's actually a test pipe that has mounting points so you can bolt in your factory heat shield to it and make it look factory.

"The pipe also includes tabs to reuse the OEM heat shield. Also includes hardware and gaskets."

now what is the benefit of having the test pipe instead of the magnaflow cat? pros and cons?

test pipe is less restrictive than a regular high flow cat due to 0 cells. Its just a hollow tube.
