New J Pipe

I went to a shop the other day, and talked to them about making a J pipe. If you look at the j-pipe on our cars, it is way to restrictive for boosted cars. I talked to them and they said they will make me one that will provide better air flow out and they will take off the third cat. I will let everyone know how it goes. I will be going there Monday!! We could have a 3" exhaust and it wont help until we do something about the piping right after the cats. This will work great with conjunction with the pro-cats.

I'd be interested. You think this would be good in addition to the ProCats??

Didn't Nitrotiger try this? And he noticed a loss? But he was NA and you are boosted.....

Either way, hope you get gains.... post results ASAP......

One more thing, you are never satisfied , always want more Power..... I don't blame you...

i can't believe you guys are running around with stock j-pipes. a simple design should yield gains, but dont over do the ID of the pipe. the comptech j-pipe for the cl/tl/accord is 2" ID and it is perfect balance between backpressure and flow.

I would recommed this for boosted cars, I am not concerned about the back pressure, forced induction doesnt really need any. I just want to get more air out. The two cats should yield enough back pressure for me!!!

Good luck on making the J-pipe it is pretty hard with that bend. the problem your going to have is the ground clearance. to make an effective bend that flows.

yup, you probably won't see anything but gains. it's gonna run you some money though for a good design. but if you can get another 10whp out that's into 12s for sure. i'm going to e-shift sometime next week. their going to take a look at my exhaust and do some custom work for me. if you are around maybe we should meet up.

Yea I need to get up there on the dyno with the spray, to see where my A/F ratio is at. Ordered some 17" rims for the front and will be putting my buddies Nittos drag radials on the front. 275- 40-17. Going to englishtown on Wends, making a few passes. Anyone free on Wends hit me up we will meet up. So far it is me and Ryan97812. Try to make it Nitrotiger

Its on. Dont really like the sound but it is definately more flowing. I have to make a few highway runs to get the computer to adjust.

More ricey at 4 - 5 k rpms. I can deal with the sound. I just to make sure it is giving more power. Feels smoother though. Im going to eat and then take a drive down the AC expressway to AC and back.

I just came back, the power has gotten a little better. My friend was standing behind the car as I ripped it down the Highway, told me it sounds good, not obnoxious, more hollow and not as deep. Kind of like a porshe, but louder. This is coming from someone who drives a Cobra. If a ford guy says it sounds good than it must. He said it doesnt sound like the rice burners. I have the ground on the battery resetting to give the computer time to adjust.

You will probably need some slicks or drag radials to do that. You will be pushing a lot of power, but without a good 60' Bad ET. MPH will be up there though. We will see. What shot are you doing?

Do you guys think it matters that they took that horseshoe loop design out on pauls setup. I thought they had to be the piping before the "Y" pipe had to be the same length in order to keep a consistant torque curve on both sides of the motor. Just a thought, not to knock your setup Paul. Looks good by the way. Is the power increase real noticable??

againstallodds1 - chop out the comptech resonator and stick in a nice fat magnaflow or similiar. it will sound 10x better. from in-cabin all you hear is the blower.
