i like... which magnaflow mufflers did you get? there's a local shop in my area that does mandrel bending and since the ATLP quad exhaust is no longer available i'm thinking about going with some magnaflow mufflers and custom pipes.

Magnaflow (12148) states it in the title. What tips are those? I want to turn mine into a quad, but I haven't found the right tips yet.

Huh? Bro he posted in the other thread that he's got major drone, I just posted in this thread since its less cluttered and easier for him to read my comment

Stage 3 alone will not cause drone
Stage 3 + replaced mufflers will

all the drone comes from the trunk area. so the trunk resonates the whole drone and bring it into cabin. no drone at all underneath me.

found that drone is caused by too much exhaust opening at the outlet. each muffler's outlet is opened up by dual 4" tips with about little more than 3" inner diameter. so tried plugging two of the four tips with damp rags and the drone dissapeared.

I have 2 Magnaflow 11235 (i think) with mid-muffler and stock resonator deleted... There is almost NO drone.

I just drove back from Tampa Saturday night and I could NOT hear it over the road noise at cruising speed (75mph).

Ahhh! That could be why I don't hear anything. I have an entire Dynamat bulk pack plus 2 door packs installed in my trunk. Every square inch is covered.

So the tip would effect the cabin drone? What if u were to retain the stock tips? Will that still drone?
I see u have a race pipe. How about try switching out to a HFC or a test pipe? That might kill your drone with out the silencers?

are yours quad tip setup? or dual?

not much but covered with some dynamat in spare area. no spare could be amplifying the drone more than usual. also diameter of tips do make difference like what ib18c1 said in one of his old threads. i closed inner two tips up and left outer two tips open without any silencers and drone is dramatically reduced/gone without much changing performance characteristics.

that's a lot of dynamat in trunk

i found that diameter of exhaust opening plays alot in drone. plus diameter of tips also come into play. now i have almost no drone and sounds pretty sporty without harshness after closing up the two inner tips up.

lol 3.5" or 4"?? Also it looks like single walled tips

I was looking at some magnaflow tips and I wanted to get the same diameter as the ATLP. Not that I am trying to copy the look or anything..I definately want it to stand out customized

Reviving a 4 yr old thread. Just did a stage 3 exhaust mod with the longer 24235 dynomax resonator. I was expecting a louder, deeper sound but there wasn't much difference over a stage 1. My question is I want more sound now. I want to do magnaflow 11365 in place of the 2 rear mufflers. will it be too loud? Drone? I've heard videos on YouTube and I searched around but couldn't find anything with the 24235 dynomax resonator, MM delete, and magnaflow 11365 rear mufflers.

This setup sounds pretty good, IMO - at least on this clip. I think the 14362 are similar mufflers (polished) vs. the 11365 you mentioned. I like the sound of this but will probably stay conservative and just go with a longer magnaflow resonator and keep the stock mufflers.

Most of the videos I watched with magnaflow rears sounded good just worried it may be too loud and have drone and I won't like that. Decisions decisions.

U like the sound? Any drone at cruising speeds? After the stage 3 mod with the longer resonator it just wasn't loud even for me but I don't want too loud to wear I get a lot of drone inside cabin. Just want to be heard and sound sexy without spending a $1000

had a member say that the rear mufflers need to be 2.5" inlet/outlet and not 2.25". anyone else run into any issues when having the rear magnaflow mufflers installed with factory tubing?

I have the magnaflow mufflers, tips and resonator with the mm delete. Sounds good, could be louder. There is drone around 2k rpm but u get used to it. Plus my musics loud most of the time anyways.

I had them weld all the stuff to my stock piping. Do you guys think I would see more tourque + sound if I did custom piping?
