Red face Motor Mounts and changing exhaust note from PCD rasp

Am I the only one who thinks their engine/exhaust note completely changed after installing stiffer motor mounts? Before when I was on my OEM mounts, I had tons of exhaust rasp from my PCDs.

After installing my 75a Excelerate mounts, it's as if my rasp has nearly completely disappeared from my PCDs and my engine/exhaust sounds much deeper than it did before. I am definitely not complaining. I will take a video of me launching and put it up against my other video of me launching to see what you guys think. I don't think I'm crazy here.

I couldnt tell you.

i had the most annoying exhaust leak for a year.
I finally, fixed the exhaust leak and did the XLR8 75a motor mounts at basically the same time.

now, all i hear is the RV6 True duals.

Engine sound goes deeper for sure. I was amazed and loved it, but not sure about exhaust. I had stock exhaust when I replaced the mounts.

I have some major vibrations and what sounds like an exhaust leak but I retightened everything and upgraded the exhaust bushings. Maybe I need to upgrade some mounts...how are the vibrations? Looking forward to that launch video OP

Vibration from where?

Wish you installed mounts during summer, but still, you have 6MT, won't have lot of vibration because of the mounts.
Install them now, by summer it'll settle and after summer, no vibration.

That's what happened on mine and it's AT

The exhaust tips but I've tried holding parts of the exhaust to see where it's originating but I only have a little time until the exhaust pipe gets too hot haha

Maybe I'll look into some of the 60 series mounts just to firm it up in general. I'm in San Diego so we really don't have a winter haha

Vibrations are bad right now on take off and when A/C or heater is on. This is due to more than just my motor mounts though. I just got a new stage 3 clutch so it's a lot less friendly on take off.

I had an odd exhaust noise and it caused me to drop my whole exhaust. To my surprise, a rock had gotten launched on top of the two pipes and was jumping around making noise.

i bet plugging that vacuum line had something to do with the note change.

I guess it could, but with it plugged, it's just sucking more air into the intake. Resonating frequencies inside the engine have definitely changed with less motor movement. Betting I put more power down now too.

Had a chance to take some videos, albeit not the best quality.

This is my before video launch:

This is after new 75 durometer motor mounts, Spec stage 3+ clutch and 14lb lightweight aluminum flywheel, and 3.7 throttle body calibration (kind of irrelevant, just sharing.)

Cabin sound for lolz:

It's hard to tell a difference in the videos, but in person you can definitely tell. Still getting used to this clutch, it's much different than my old one.

Mounts obviously can't change the exhaust note. It might transfer more engine vibrations and the resulting noise into the cabin which is usually lower in pitch than exhaust.
